Good morning all! It's been a long week! And after a particularly stressful 12 hours, everything has come right again, just in time for the weekend! I've only got one short piece of school work to do as well. :D
I'm off out for lunch with my sister shortly, then we're going to our local theatre to see 'Joseph', which has always been a favourite.

In other news, I'm keeping up well with maintaining my kondo-ing. The drawer with the majority of my clothes in continues to look perfect, and I'm easily maintaining it. And because I can see everything in it easily, I'm wearing stuff I've not worn for ages. I'm also just about succeeding at "keeping work stuff out of the living room", which is doing wonders for my mental health. :)

    Enjoy this sunny Saturday all!

    Morning happy Kondoers!

One very happy Kondoer here. Enjoyed talking through with builders the work to be done and starting to look at kitchens, researching heating options and other materials that will be needed. Quotes should be in by the end of the week.

Now it's all becoming real the need to Kondo so much more is apparent and have renewed enthusiasm for doing so. Can't wait to love my home again.

Lovely sunny day so although up somewhat later than planned, action will be the name of the game here today.

I realised the kondoing in my living room was only half done, and as a result it was *very* untidy ... has now been tidied, at least, though the kondoing has dropped in priority because of upcoming wedmin. Still, the tidying has helped me sort out my priorities - got to do some serious online tiddlypom today.

Big plans to Kondo excess "materials" (ie bits of wood kept with projects in mind) to the local tip. However, slept late and the weather isn't what it was meant to be. So - switching to Kondoing kimono inside instead ...
    Looking ahead

I found a few wool scarves in the hall cupboard so rounded up all the rest and put them in the washing machine. All dried outside blowing in the wind and easy to see which ones are joyful. So now all my thin scarves are washing and will have a good cull of them when I see them flapping on the clothesline. I have thick cashmere pashminas all the way to thin Moira C ones so will decide when they are all dry. One of my friends has already got her eye on some :D

:) Your granny was a wise lady - I love that.

I'm chilling out with a cuppa before toddling the half-mile down the road with a couple of chazzer bags. Crazily, one of them is full of the most ridiculously heavy, fleece-lined storm-proof jacket which my Dad was keeping in the BCofD and which is being released into the wild on the warmest day of the year so far.

Ach well, I can't give it house-room for 6 months until it's seasonally appropriate.

Got a few things which are to be laundered before donation and one washable bag which I am not sure if it will wash into an acceptable condition for donation. It isn't right as it is and throwing it in the dustbin doesn't sit well will me. If it doesn't come up nicely, I will cannibalise it for spares and trimmings and put the remainder of the cloth bits into textile recycling.

:o Wanna laugh (cover any children's eyes right now). I asked my friendly neighbourhood chazzer shop manager what were the weirdest things that get donated. He looked around carefully to check no one else was in earshot and whispered; sex toys! we get loads of them and have to throw them away.

    The mind boggles, hey? :rotfl:

if they weren't sparking joy they probably weren't being used correctly ;) :rotfl:

Just laughed at the most unusual thing your chasser gets GQ.
Took a bag full of tiff to one but nothing embarrassing was included in it. Asked Bout a big bamboo chair we have (with fire label still attached) and a coupe of boxes leccy blankets mil has still boxed, they will be happy to take all of them. They have drafted in a magazine rack to hold all the crafting mags I donated last month, they are selling fast I'm assured.

Have a joyful weekend all, weather is lovey here

there is an unbelievable amount of dirt coming out of the rug... I've rinsed it, washed it and rinsed it again. one more rinse, then regardless of the colour of the water, i need to start on the other half!

:) Sounds like hard work but rewarding, greenbee. I've cleaned readicut type rugs, heathrug size, in the bath by treadling them in soapy water. Hard work and they take days and days to dry even in summer.

Well, whilst I was online earlier, I was busy with my stitch ripper taking apart something I'd made years before which wasn't donatable. One of the component parts went on freegle and was asked for and collected within the hour. Yippee.

Closer examination of the bag which was washed has revealed that it hasn't come clean (cream coloured cloth) so will let it dry then take it apart for the trimmings, zips, hardware etc and then recycle the cloth bits. Bit of a fiddle but I quite like deconstructing things.

I once deconstructed an abandoned, incomplete pushbike and sold the parts at a bootsale for £40. Not a bad reward for a couple of hours listening to the radio at home whilst playing with a spanner set and screwdrivers.

Got another part of a project to dismantle for the parts (most of which will be donated) but won't do that tonight. There's a limit to how much unpicking thread I'm prepared to do in one evening.

Spoke to Mum briefly this evening - she said their sitting-room is still in a bit of a mess even though I brought 90% of the Stuff up to mine. I hope to wave hello to my floors any day now............ :p
