Oh, I have some Eon points which need to be transferred into something spendable, and Clubcard was one of the possibilities. Must have a think about that.

Hello Karmacat. Just thought I'd stop by with a bit of information about our Reward Points. As well as Tesco Clubcard points, if you prefer, you can also exchange our points for Bonusbond High Street Shopping Vouchers. 500 points can be exchanged for a £5 shopping voucher. This can be done either online through our website or by giving us a quick call.

Points will continue to build up at just over 4 per day (1500 per year) and are added to your account each month. Once on the account, you have 2 years to use them. There's a bit more information on our website including some FAQs and a list of where the shopping vouchers can be used.

Hope this is of interest Karmacat and happy shopping. :)

:o Guys, guys, I'm embarrassed that rootling around in the piles of Parental Stuff is providing so much innocent entertainment.

No plans to go into the loft at all this visit (Fri night to Weds am) but will be visiting my Nan and re-sealing the shower stall. I have a yen to get at the Bedroom Cupboard of Doom. This is much shallower than mavvy's dad's Narnia cupboards, but still big enough that there is Stuff in there which possibly hasn't been seen this millennium.

There will, I am sure, be something shocking mouldering away in the depths - if you hear a shriek, it'll be me having a close encounter of the arachnid nature. I am severely phobic of the blighters.

:D My freegler has picked up the Small Heavy Thing and that's now gone. Tonight I will be assembling stuff ready to go back to the parental home via their car when it comes up next week. Don't often get the opportunity to take stuff around by car so will make good use of it.

The parents had a slapstick moment a couple of days ago when their back door spontaneously decided to stop unlocking, which meant that the baffled cats were pulling faces through the glass and wondering why their staff were so slack as not to open sesame on demand.

So, they decided to unearth the other back door, the one on the extension which has been hidden behind a head-high pile of boxes for several years; I did mention that room had lost a door once before. So, they went to unlock that one and found that its lock had somehow malfunctioned also, and it initially couldn't be opened, then was unlocked and couldn't be re-locked.

The cats have been discombobulated by having to use an unaccustomed door all of 12 foot away from the regular door. The Queen of Sheba (the brains of this pair of sisters) got with the programme quickly but Wild Thing (cute but dumb as a bucket of rocks) has been struggling, bless her.

Locksmith was due today so will have to call later and see if all is well. I will also have to remember to sling my own copy of their back door key if a new lock was required as it won't work.

M & D have told Kid Bruv the boxes cannot go back in front of the other back door. Heaven knows where they will go, the place is like a warehouse with some furniture in it at times.

    :p It's a wonder I'm sane, really - don't answer that!

Not only entertainment GQ, but motivation for me to continue clearing out stuff. I find myself flinging alongside you even though we're many miles apart.

Found a file in filing cabinet full of stuff no longer needed so shredded/recycled everything. More paper gone from desk and a couple of jobs from the Big List have been started. Am very excited about that. Ocean is well on the way to getting organised at flippin' last.

Well I've just read about 10 days worth of posts and I've chuckled, applauded, sympathised, laughed and been thoroughly impressed with the Kondoing going on. You lot are all absolutely brilliant. :T

I've been reading the old thread from last year. Has taken me about a month, maybe 6 weeks, in the evenings. I've reached October and have less than 100 of 483 pages to go!

Have learned a lot along the way!

Sounds like your weekend job has been sorted for you then GQ - you're going to have to find somewhere for all the stuff that was in front of the door to go!

It does sound as if life is conspiring to get your parents' house sorted whether they like it or not.

I'm hoping my bedroom and ensuite will be done enough for me to get them cleaned up and start moving stuff back into them over the weekend. They won't be finished but it'll be close enough.

:) The Stuff in the boxes is books from my brother's online bookselling business so very heavy and not going to be hiffed out the door. It was discussed some months ago that mebbe he could think about reducing the volume by pulling out some of the cheaper books which had been on the inventory forever(he sells on amazooon and abe) and donate them to the chazzer.

Errr, about 6 books left the premises.:rotfl:

I'm pretty sure kid bruv and muvva are hoarders and me and dad are minimalists. The cats are pretty mimimalistic too, and you can't hold them accountable for the three cat baskets Mum insists on retaining. They're in the loft, right beside the Suitcase Archive.

I have the loft contents approximately zoned, with the more frequently-needed items beside the hatch and fanning out from there. The dead bird was on J's side (the respective side's of the loft are still known by the names of the former neigbours - it makes sense to us).

There are still things up there which need attention but it's still a bit blinking cold to have the loft hatch open and there are more urgent needs for my bossiness downstairs in the living quarters.

Righty, just going to gut out some kitchen cupboards of some non-paleo type foodstuffs (i.e. flours) which will be donated to the parental kitchen - I did ask.

Just back from Drs with mil, while there she gave me a letter to put a stamp on and post to damart. She has a wardrobe budging with clothes of every shape style and colour but wears the same two outfits depending on which is in the wash. We had posted a letter a couple,of weeks ago for her to damart so I asked if this was another order she replied I'm running out of panties. This is the same mil who's dressing table drawers I tidied two weeks ago and opened and put into the drawers 18 pairs of brand new knickers that were tucked in the back of the wardrobe that were being kept for best after throwing away the ratty baggy old things she had to wear a girdle over to hold up. Reason she's having to buy new pants is yes you've guessed it she hasn't got any spare ones put away in reserve now I've emptied the packs and put them out to use. I'm not even asking what clothes she's ordered as well. Funnily enough she was telling me how lovely damart are as they send her things like overnight or weekend bags when she places regular orders so she has plenty of those. She NEVER goes away as she's too old and frail so as well as clothes she now has cupboards full of blessed travel bags!!!
    And breathe.........
GQ another round here who looks forward to tales from the Homefront attic, you could write a book or the very least a blog about it.

Tatty old store hangers recycled in Ts and a pack of lovely velvet huggable type hangers purchased so I can get rid of some more ratty ones the stuff falls off.

 OMG, what a lot of clothes and bags your MIL has, I get a bit queasy just thinking about all that.

Just had a quick natter with Mum as their locksmith was leaving. He daren't meddle with the defunct lock of the uPVC back door as he isn't sure he can do it and at least now it is locked. He knows a man-who-can and will call him then call them. The other back door (also uPVC but much newer) had dropped on its hinges which is why the lock wouldn't engage and has now been adjusted so it's correctly aligned.

You do it with allan keys, apparently, Mum was watching closely.

The cats have reacted to this according to their essential natures. The Queen of Sheba, being a languid oriental/mongrel critter, retired upstairs to bed 18 hours ago and hasn't yet come downstairs to eat. She is still alive and fussy if you want to visit her, apparently.

Wild Thing still can't cope with the Other Back Door and refuses to enter it, acting as if she will be seized by monsters. They've only owned these rescue cats for 10+ years and the worst thing which befalls them is the annual trip to the vet's a mile away for a check-up and vaccinations, but they act is if abduction and torture is a real hazard if anything changes in their world, bless their little cotton socks.:rotfl:

Wild Thing, as aforementioned, isn't the brightest pebble on the beach and causes frequent rueful headshaking and remarks along the lines of she's not right, is she? She is very very cute, tho.

Runs in quickly and admits that I like ironing and find it therapeutic and good for de-stressing. I iron virtually everything (I used to do muslins, babygros and vests when they were little - you get the picture) - clearly I need de-stressing often! :D:D x
