KonMari 2016 - The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

:T Wow, kondo-ing a whole caravan and its contents, that's a great achievement.
I'm experimenting with drying my jammies on the radiator (washed them at teatime) and intend to wear them back to bed tonight. Not even going to put them on the airer, never mind take them off the airer before wearing them again.
GQ; busily applying low cunning to lifestyle conundrums. Available to spread sedicious thoughts online and in person (have a secret hope to corrupt a reader here and get them to quit ironing for good.;):p).Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Greyqueen, your choice to spend an evening at archery sounds so much fun! I am a defective woman too. If dh wants ironed work shirts (which he does), he has to iron them himself; and, as he has the iron out anyway, I sweetly ask him if he could do a couple of my things, too, oh, and of course the girls' shirts and dresses
.

GQ - unfortunately contents not kondoed yet - some on the kitchen table and the rest still in the back of DH's car!! It's going to take a whileSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0

I like your style.
This morning a freegle pickup is scheduled from the outdoor hidey-hole whilst I am at work. This works for small items of low value, wouldn't work for anything much bigger than a shoebox. Great not to have to wait in for people.
Have decided to kondo the Tosspots clubcard. Mum and I share it but I'm usually the only one who uses it and I CBA lately. Since they stopped having a utility account which got them points, we simply don't rack up enough points. I'll sort that in the next few days and that will be some wee plastic keyfobs and several chunks of paperwork per annum gone.
After the Bank Holiday weekend (will be at the folks' place! serious kondo-alert!) I will be brought back to the homestead in the family car, which will mean some things of mine which are there will return and vice versa. Will probably involve a net loss of Stuff in my flat, which is all good.
Keep up the good work, lovely peeps. and step away from those ironing boards. There's gotta be something more joyous in everybody's life even if it isn't as eccentric as sending pointy sticks downrange at speed from a springy stick with a piece of string on it.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

GQ I used to love doing archery many moons ago, I still have bows and pointy sticks in the attic should the occasion ever arise again. Ours are recurve bows not long bows, that is very impressive.
Only in work for a couple of hours today but have stuff to keep me busy this morning and mil has a Drs appt so I can tie in chaperoning her to that with some stuff I need to do in that direction.
Will get another CS box started today as there are a few little bits that need to leave.
If it warms up some weeds will be leaving the front garden!
Have a joyful day allSPC~12 ot 124

Morning all
If I can jump in on the 'Ironing' topic.
Since KM I reckon I spend 10% of time ironing than I did before KMWhich brings me joy joy joy in spades
I just smooth and stretch out T shirts and the like before drying them and then when dry I just fold and stick away
I used to just get them off the line or airer and chuck them in the basket all screwed up for about a week as that was how long it took me to be ar*ed to sort them out:o and everything needed ironing when I look back how bl**dy stupid is that making yourself work for the 'fun' of it
Now its just a few odds and ends that need ironing and takes about 1hr a month on a bad month :rotfl:On a good about 10 mins;)
I am going back to clothes today I know shock horror but have had loads of thoughts about project 33 and I think I am going to give it a go. Just not sure where to start really but I am sure I will get the hang of it.
I still have too much and it really is getting me down now.I am being drawn back big style.
So the stuff I think brings joy but I never wear is going to be put away in one of the 8  empty storage boxes if I dont even think about it for a couple of months its going.
Trouble is too many clothes seem to spark joy and I think its just because I want to wear them not because I doIYSWIM :rotfl:
As I have kondoed so many I most likely dont have as many as a lot of people but for me with my now minimal lifestyle in every other area is FAR TO MUCH
Thats my thoughts on today :rotfl:

As you may have gathered, I escaped from the woman-factory with some severely-defective programming. I could have ironed last night if I'd wanted to but I thought it was funnier to go to my archery class and practise shooting a longbow.
Mind you, I'd rather do almost anythng but iron and can usually be found lying on the sofa reading thrillers and drinking tea in my leisure time.Have decided to kondo the Tosspots clubcard. Mum and I share it but I'm usually the only one who uses it and I CBA lately. Since they stopped having a utility account which got them points, we simply don't rack up enough points. I was talking to my mum yesterday about decluttering (I don't call it Kondo-ing with her) and talked about getting rid of the now-musty letters I wrote to her which she returned to me about ten years ago (she's crafty). Even from a genealogical standpoint, they're not valuable, not really - I'm an auntie, no direct descendants, so I'll scan a few for local colour and ambience, and the rest can go :j

I too gave up ironing unless something really really needs it. I no longer have a big basket of ironing around which never gets emptied - most people seem to end up with certain things that just keep going to the bottom of the pile! Since MK I wash, dry and put away. Brilliant.0

Morning - running late as i ended up finishing a book I'd started last week. Though how the main character can have been so bliddy stoopid is beyond me when he was running with the big dogs. it was a Robert Goddard, who i usually like but this character was seriously lacking an ounce of common sense. Still, i have finished it now and it can go the chazzer, from whence it came. I have declared a book buying amnesty until i have read and Kondoed a goodly portion of my shelves. Marie is right, unread books just accumulate and too much choice means none get read... Also quite proud that i just spent an hour and a half reading in bed - on a schoolday
Ironing? Did [STRIKE]Greyqueen[/STRIKE] someone [STRIKE]taunt me about[/STRIKE] mention ironing?? I probably do about an hour a week, or someone does in this house. I own up to the "afraid of being thought of as a bad mother" label - in fact, one of my aims this year is to get DS ironing for himself. Not bothered about the "bad wife" bit, OH is quite capable of ironing himself if i haven't done it. Anyhow I've known i was a bad housewife for 25 years - and one day!! (Silver anniversary yesterday :rotfl: No presents between us - we went to Jersey for the weekend instead. Friend gave us a silver photo frame that I expect i can find a home for. Another friend hand sewed us a card - which is lovely and thoughtful, but i am going to struggle to get rid of it....
Asked OH if he thought I'd changed in the three months since i Kondoed the job - he said that the only perceptible change was that the kitchen table is untidier (that is where I work) :rotfl: I think i need to do some more office kondoing so i actually want to work in there....I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Post is now all dealt with and stuff that needs going back is in a pile in envelopes ready to go, bag of coat hangers that can go in Ts recycling bin is by the door, phoned mil to tell her I have errands to do so will meet her there. (She gets a taxi I can speed walk) load of washing out some non iron that came in is folded ready to put away. Just got to get ready for work now.
Have a good afternoon all
Ps
Have you seen the new IKEA ad yet? I think someone there has read about mk their recent ads really go out of their way NIT to sell you stuff, makes me smile as they are a shop after all.SPC~12 ot 124
