    ablute
my Grandad used to say he had done his ablutions. Never heard anyone else say it!

[QUOTEorganisation isn't intended to be your life's purpose/ profession

][/QUOTE] - unless you are MK!!!

Sounds like people are enjoying re-visiting categories to fine tune ☺

Enjoy something today, no matter how small or cost-free ( well especially cost free!)

I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.
  • Oh we used the term 'ablutions' - in a jokey way.

I thought that woman's passion for organising was a bit like that thing at school when you draw up a really detailed revision timetable and colour it in very carefully instead of actually doing the revision. :rotfl: Life is for living, not organising and one of the many benefits of MK is that you don't need to buy new 'storage solutions'. It's freed me up to do things I enjoy and still live in a (relatively) civilised way!

I've seen a few of those on pintrest when I've looked at storage ideas, it's one thing to have a few spares in hand but quite another to be so full of stuff it just takes over, it's basically organised hoarding.
I've just resamosaed my carrier bags as a few new ones had arrived that had just been stuffed into the carrier bag holder, it looks tidy again now and not so full.

Am reading this and scanning-to-declutter as I do so, I think some clutter may be simply transferring itself to my computer - these are school magazines, I think they're fascinating but I don't want old, old paper in my house any more, or as little as possible anyway - the first one was from 1968!

About to kondo some cheques to the bank :D

I haven't downloaded that programme to watch, but I've seen a still picture, and I don't think I want to watch the full programme _pale_ the comments on here tell me everything I need to know, thanks folks :)

So far I've shredded three big plastic bags of old paperwork, and I mean really really old. I'm a little burnt out on paperwork.

I started rummaging around in my pantry and found old dried chick peas, so I cooked them, got out my recipe for hummus and then couldn't find my jar of tahini. I know I have one, but my cabinets and pantry are stuffed so full...I can't find it. :o
I don't want to buy more, and even though I have cooked chickpeas and a hankering for hummus, think I'll just freeze them until I find that missing tahini jar.

Still planting seeds that have been laying around taking up space.:T
I have a used peanut butter successfully in place of tahini if that helps your hankering. Not exactly the same but does quite well xx

Morning all, the kids are going to their grandparents this weekend. So tomorrow, I'm sorting stuff from the attic to take to the skip on Saturday.

Still on the first part clothes, still going through my tops, have three left to wear. Still undecided about jewellery, I know I should get rid as I haven't worn them in years but it's hard. I need the house done by September really.

With books I'm on reading them, I have loads that I haven't read, only keeping ones I really like (I do tend to reread books), they stored in the attic so I'll bring some more down, after I've read the ones in my cupboard.

Small steps. This morning filling the car with fuel at the pump. Do I want a receipt. In the past I've always said yes. It goes in my wallet, sits there for weeks or months, then is shredded. Today I said no.

This morning the charity that collect small electricals are coming for my toaster and electric toothbrush, I've also added hair curlers and found out they would like my plates. I've added in some wine glasses also that have green on and go nicely with the plates, so they are going also. Feel a little sad about these things, but they aren't being used anymore, so I hope somebody else gets to enjoy them. 1 large plate with the chip which has gone in the bin counts as died in storage, and to that one I apologise.

Before I started mk , I had looked at that lady on you.tuube and wondered how she had the time! Some of the solutions were useful but she defo has waaay too much stuff
I had to buy a new printer as mine wouldn't print from my tablet and my old laptop is sooo slow and isn't supporting some of the programs I need.
I stuck the printer on my Facebook page and my niece is having it for uni saves her going to library to print.:T
Would like to get rid of laptop I did transfer my photos to a stick last year which I'm hoping I did correctly! But need to find out if I'm getting rid of anything else I need to keep:o

Just used up some odds of wool making instant smoothie hats and all the snippings went out onto the bird table some have already been taken so the birds will have comfy joyful nests.
I could have just kondoed the wool as it wasn't a huge amount but I like making the hats so that bought me joy and will hopefully raise some money for a good cause next year.
Off to tackle the shelves near the door.
