This lady is very well organised but not actually decluttered. Get rid off stuff, woman, don't just label it!

Quick shout out to GQ - Are you alright my dear? We are missing you.
I'm fine, my dear, but thank you for noticing. I wouldn't leave my MSE pals for long, unless there was something serious like my 14 y.o PC meeting its maker.
Tueday is a bit of an odd day for me as I come in from work, grab a snack, pick-up my longbow & arrows then go out to archery class. Bit too late for me to be online once I'm back from that or I get tired eyes and don't sleep well.
Have been kondo-ing food from the cupboards and freezer (big vat of chili on the stove atm) and using up paper and pencils at work. Have reached a decision about some of the too-be-read books; rebellion.
I reckon if I've had them for a couple of years and bypassed them, I don't really want to read them, so they can go back to the chazzer which is where they came from. Gotta keep the energy moving.
What I'm trying to do is not actually let things get a foothold in my flat. Once they've put their little cluttery feet down, they don a cloak of invisibility and disappear, only to surface months/ years/ decades later as a veritable nuisance.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Oh dear, bags of stuff to the CS yesterday and today I bought 5 books from them. Never mind I will redonate them when they are read.
I do that as well. The way I look at it, CS books are cheap entertainment. If they then go back to the CS, you have had your cheap entertainment, and made a donation to the charity in the process - what is not to like?0 -

What an absolute nightmare. She and her husband have turned their sunroom into a garage-like storage area........... how sad. Clear out all the carp and enjoy the space and the sun.
I wonder how much stuff goes out of date and has to be binned with all those tins of food. Perhaps she'd have a few less headaches and not need all those pain relievers if she didn't have so much stuff to look after.Make £2025 in 2025

I had a joyful dinner this evening, using a plate I probably haven't used for nearly 15 years. Before I met OH I had an everyday set of crockery, and a Royal Dolton 'best' set which I used to use when entertaining. They are mainly green. OH's crockery is blue Denby and ended up being what we used to coordinate with our dining room when I moved in with him. A house move later and the dining room is still cream and blue so the Denby set gets used in the main.
I still use my green mugs from my everyday set, and the cat eats out of the bowls, but I'm going to let the dining and side plates go. One of the big plates has been chipped by something else, so this evening I've reorganised the cupboards and my good green set is coming out of the dresser in the hall, and back into the kitchen somewhere it won't get chipped by accident.
Foolishly I worried about what would happen if I chipped or dropped something. Well I've checked eBay and there's plenty of it to buy online still if I need it.
So joyous meals will be consumed from my best china more often in future.Make £2025 in 2025

So far I've shredded three big plastic bags of old paperwork, and I mean really really old. I'm a little burnt out on paperwork.
I started rummaging around in my pantry and found old dried chick peas, so I cooked them, got out my recipe for hummus and then couldn't find my jar of tahini. I know I have one, but my cabinets and pantry are stuffed so full...I can't find it.
I don't want to buy more, and even though I have cooked chickpeas and a hankering for hummus, think I'll just freeze them until I find that missing tahini jar.
Still planting seeds that have been laying around taking up space.:TOverprepare, then go with the flow.

Morning kondoers.
Went back through the kitchen drawers and cupboards yesterday, a few more bits got added to the CS bag.
Major move round in a couple of the cupboard has made things much more accessible. Just need to sort the cupboard I keep teatowels etc in as that's never joyful.
Did some shredding so all recycling is out. lounge and kitchen look ok now.
The shelves in the hall are a bit of a hotspot as things seem to get dumped and breed there, I really need to address that area today I think.
Have a joyful day allSPC~12 ot 124

SO. MUCH. STUFF.
Felt quite ill looking at it. Get a grip woman - having a nice drawer to store two massive rolls of elastic bands and a load of loose ones is not being organised, it's tidy hoarding. I'm away at the moment but I want to look at my little battery box to make myself feel better after looking at her massive boxes! And I agree about less headaches if she had less STUFF!!!!A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

And I thought about all those batteries going off before they could be used and those elastic bands perishing and wondered if this lady ever did any crafting in her immaculate craft room and what she made. Craftining is usually pretty messy and she doesn't seem to be a person who'd enjoy the process.
I have a reasonably-organised home. I have a shoebox which contains a few AA and AAA batteries (the only sizes I use), the spare fuses, a couple of timer switches and a couple of rolls of electrical insulation tape. They are all jumbled together within the shoebox but it takes about 3 seconds to get to the box and another 3 seconds to pick out/ return whatever it was I was after.
From my point of view, organisation above that kind of level isn't useful, it's timewasting and probably symptomatic of a psychiatric problem.
Our homes are to support our lives by giving us a place to rest, socialise, eat, ablute and keep things. Their organisation isn't intended to be your life's purpose/ profession.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
