    Hi everyone,

Thanks for everything on this thread, you really make me inspired and also make me laugh out loud with recognition! I love car tax discs - there I'm out and proud.

I have just decloaked to say that my wrapping paper stash lives happily in a clothes protector zip bag on a clothes hanger. I never used the bag usually but it was joyful so I kept it and then read this tip from someone on the Flylady thread.

Have a joyful day everyone, I'm kondoing some things and posting some from yesterday on freegle and fleabay today.

I can't believe how many odd socks there are in the world! There is definitely a sock monster in my house and he never eats a pair. Odd socks are the way to go, I swear the stress level in my life when I decided to just wear odd socks. Life's too short to worry about odd socks.

Haha, the only time I care about wearing odd socks is if I go to MIL's house - she's very stylish and would frown upon me wearing odd socks lol.

As for gift wrapping storage, these are great for keeping wrapping paper rolls tidy in a cupboard and they're really cheap at £1.50 each - they fit about 6-8 rolls depending on how wide the cadboard tubing is:

I am loving eating off my new (secondhand) dinner plates. After all those years of using something I hated with unhappy memories attached I wish I'd done something about it sooner.

Yesterday was spent clearing more paper off my desk and I'm disappointed to say that it still doesn't look much better. I know the piles are smaller but there's some way to go yet. Brain not working so not sure what may or may not happen today!

    Morning all.
Went to the first carboot of the year today, bought some food items, some sweetpea plants, seed potatoes, a calendar and a flat sheet to use as the basic for dd2s tshirt throw. Then went b&q and bought a couple of bales of compost so I can get more gardening done this week.
No clutter books or DVDs were bought so came home feeling very pleased with ourselves.

Had a lovely day yesterday ds2 had friends round all day then all our children were round at various points so joyful full house all day.

Mavvy well def have to met up when I'm over for the weekend if you're free.

Cor wrapping paper storage is a whole world of options! Funny enough I used to keep it all in a clothes dust bag, after over 7 years of good service the zip broke and a trip out to buy a replacement would cost slightly less than ordering the proper bag with pockets.
Doing some reverse shopping today, have some tins for the foodbank and some cheques to pay into the bank and books to return to the library. Hoping to return a few birthday gifts to the shop from whence they came, no receipt but have branding/price stickers on so worth a try....

My wrapping paper fits neatly in the gap between the wardrobe and the floor so I suppose I am luck in that respect.

All my eBay stuff has bids on which is fab so should be out of the house in time for my Easter break when I can do some more!

Lovely day here so might just get started on the back yard.

Great work being done all round by the looks.

Today, I must confess to my shame, I have put the Christmas tree lights back in their boxes. They aren't into the loft yet, but at least they are tidy in their boxes. I really don't know why it's taken so long this year, normally they come off the tree outside, get put in the garage for a week to make sure they are totally dry and are then boxed up and put away. I do try and make sure they are all clipped back into the fittings in the box, I think this helps prolong the life of the set. The special indoor set my grandparents had was put away properly at Christmas and is in the loft (this set has to be over 50 years old and works straight of the box most years. I have enough spare bulbs to last my lifetime I think).

I have also done a small sewing job, and at the same time cleared out a load of old buttons and consolidated my sewing collection into a re-puposed tub. Previously it was in a ferroro rocher box, a paper bag and some odd rolls of thread rattling around in a drawer. They now all fit in one tub, if somewhat untidily, but hopefully this means that repairs will be done much quicker. This is the limit of my sewing efforts. The FR box has been retained for a while to see if it needs to contain something else.

Got rid of some bank statements yesterday and filed the remaining ones in a folder I freed up a few weeks back, rather than them being dumped untidily in a drawer.

Small steps but I do feel I'm moving in the right direction. In previous years I've said to OH, I want to reduce the stuff in this house by about 20% this year....... and of course nothing happened as there was never a plan, or great will to do anything about it. In fact it would have been getting worse as more stuff was coming in than going out.

Busy week ahead, but not as physical as last week, so hopefully I'll have more energy in the evenings for a bit of cleaning, if nothing else.

:) Oh what a gorgeous afternoon, have been having a lovely time on the allotment. Have planted spuds and gave a few spares to some new people a few doors up.

Have also just stuck something on Freegle and am waiting to see how long it takes for someone to ask for it. My record thus far is 13 minutes.......:rotfl:

ETA; took 16 minutes today, those Freeglers are soooo slow. Lady will collect it tomorrow.

:) You could make it your thing. Read a journo describing a male friend who always did wear odd socks. Very different. It was just his thing, something he did. Imagine how soothing life would be if you just had a basket of socks and threw any which came your way into it with gay abandon.

Come the morning, you'd say to yourself Hmm, I feel that today is a red sock left foot day and a stripy sock right foot day.

If anyone would pass comment, you could just tell them you'd got another 'pair' at home just like these ones.:rotfl:

Or maybe recovering kondoites could get together at swapmeets. An auctioneer could hold up each lonesome sock to the audience: what am I bit for a navy-background-white-polkadot ladies size 4-7 sock? Anyone willing to rehome this sock with one of theirs?

The thing is where do the other socks go? I felt ashamed reading about everyone matching up their socks so when I was sorting out my washing this morning I thought I would all the odd ones of the drawer and all the newly washed ones and try to match them up. I found one matching pair, so where are the other? It is a mystery and I think Panorama should do an investigation into it.

I often wonder where the other half of sock mountain is. I think there is a parallel universe with the people searching for the the other half of their odd pairs that we have.

Been out and planted some veggie seeds and potatoes. Will see what turns up.

Got a couple of bits of mending to do so they can be returned to their owners.
