Hello,

2016 is fast approaching so a new diary for me. Didn't get very far with my old, lack of motivation.
So a new start. Debt has not decreased still around £18,685, want this gone by the time I'm fifty which is in 992 days.So I need to seriously sort myself out.

Bit about me I'm 47 year old female, married to the wonderful Mr D.The debt I have is mine Mr D does not know and I plan on keeping it that way. With some careful planning, lots of eBaying and a but of overtime should be able to make a dent in the debt.

First debt I'm going to work on us my Argos Card £353.86,% on £120.00 until the end of Feb,remaining amount end of April. Looking to clear by 15th of March.

Would also like to work on:-:
Building an energancy fund £300 will be a good start over the next few months.
Lose weight 1 1\2 stone is my goal.
Christmas 2016 - no debt increase Have change pots and registered for survey sites.
Home improvement Job that have been put off painting etc.
Gardening Growing my own fruit and veg.
Being as frugal as possible Meal planning, shopping lists, lunch to work etc.

    Good Morning.

Made a payment to Argos this morning of £3.86, last payment of 2015. Packed up a parcel to return to Next that arrived yesterday, did not need any of the items I ordered in the sale, feeling pleased with myself.

Working today and on-call this evening, hoping for a quite evening with no calls. Bought some bread and raspberries on the way to work this morning, going to make a white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake when I get home, rest of ingredients are already in the fridge.

I also weighted this morning 10:131/2st, not surprised really, clothes are starting to feel tighter. Roll on 2016, actually looking forward paying back the £ and losing the lb.

Just been looking at the 365 Day Penny Challenge on FB but I may swap around and start with £365 and work down.

    Hi Doris

    Welcome to MSE!

What a great target to have - just did a quick calc and you need to pay £19per day to the debts to clear your debt in 992 days - I think that's a really achievable goal.

I will tag along for the ride if that's ok?

Have you done a financial statement/budget to se what you have spare?

Do you know your debt amounts and APR's? I guess you do as you have picked Argos to clear - have you looked at the snowball calculator?

    Hi Doris

I just wanted to say that we did the 365 penny challenge this year and it got really complicated if we didn't have the right amount so for 2016 we are doing £2 a day. Much simpler and we will end up with more at the end of the year.

Good luck with the debt busting.

    Good Morning Eager_Elephant,
I would love to be debt free by 50,if I can't achieve that, I have to be free by the following year when the fixed rate on the mortgage runs out. Not done a snowball calculator yet, I will in the next few days.
Argos is my lowest balance and I thought have one debt gone would be great motivation. xx
