  • Happy New Year Marmite and thanks for the lovely new thread as ever. I had a bit of a financial wake-up call a couple of weeks ago - some serious budgeting is in order - so I'm going to start 2016 as I mean to go on with a target of 15 NSDs. :)
  • "And make sure Igor sorts out a decent cabin for Ladytrucker, a NSD gang first timer!"

Thanks Nargleblast that would be lovely :) I'm happy to help out wherever needed in order to pay my way, what about strapping down the cargo I could do that :D

Well volunteered, Lady Trucker, a spot of cargo strapping to work off the huge breakfasts, followed by coffee and elevenses on the poop deck...this is the life!

Must pack some frocks for cocktail hours, and evening wear for dinner at the captain's table.....best Chewy Jims with the diamante stiletto heels......eyes off, Hubert!
One life - your life - live it!

  • Hi marmiterulesok could I join please?

Everyday we go to the supermarket, as well as doing a weekly shop, and quite frankly I'm fed up with it so need to get strict with my hubby and son #2. I need to cut it all back to only spending twice a week, once for the main shop and once for mid-week essentials so this is my focus area.

I won't include bills and necessity costs like diesel if that's OK?

Thanks for giving me the motivation to get started, as soon as you wrote "we are a happy (and some might say mildly insane) bunch doing battle with those retailers" I was sold :)

Doh! forgot to say 21 NSD please.

Hi LadyTrucker and welcome to the challenge! The great thing about the NSD challenge is that you make up the rules...so,as long as it sits well with you, that's fine with us! :)

    Aiming high I see. ;)
    That's the spirit! :money: :j
I'm going to kick off this fantastic year with a goal of: 20 NSDs & 3-in-row
I won't include: Prescribed medicines,train/bus fare when I visit my partner as I have a separate savings account that allows me to use it for that, bus fare for work purposes, Bills, £10 emergency money

Thank you, marmite for running this challenge!
It was always a joy when I actually tried to keep up with this challenge!
This year is the start of a new responsible girl when handling money :)

Welcome positivelypunked!I don't remember your name, but I'm glad to see you joining in. :)
I'm sure it's going to be a rockin' month, full of determination and spirit, especially since it can be a long month to get through money wise. ....

  • Can I please join in? I'm not going to include direct debits or my weekly tesco delivery as I'm trying to order enough to last full week and cut out top up shops. I should really only need 2 days a week to spend on so will aim for 20 nsd

*gingerly ascends gangplank, never releasing vice-like grip on the voles training leads as they 'help' BMF board*
I'm not sure I can face another water-based adventure so soon after the last one _pale_ In fact, my doctor has advised that I should limit exposure to blustery, briney breathing for a while, or I may never play the bagpipes again :o *Whose that cheering * So I had a thunk & would like to propose a proposal for a possible solution, to be discussed by the Entertainment Committee at their next planning meeting...
Whenever possible - weather permitting- I shall Tardis out to as many ports as possible, to enjoy some shore-based socialising, thereby still minding The Muvva & babysitting the bronchia, aaaannd ...gettin' in a few shifty snifters while no-one's lookin' :D

If this proposal reaches the allotted quorum I will set a target of 12
nsds, please. *turns, with posture of an egg-bound emu, lays - moaning quietly- in empty baked beans crate & descends to shore via conveyor being used to replenish the galley*

I will challenge myself to 15 NSDS for January. If I don't aim too high then if I go over and above then I'll feel quite chuffed! *this appears to be my psychology for saving*:rotfl:
