Mooloo's little tapestry of life, 2016

I actually made it till closing time today. Just. It is a real effort.
Dinner is pizza and garlic bread from the reduced isle.
DGD is back to her usual (stubborn) self. So it's sulks over homework again!
Oh well. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hi Mooloo, I'm glad to hear you are on the mend, even if you are possibly going to feel pretty ordinary for the next week or two. Congratulations on getting in a whole day at work. Just make sure you get plenty of sleep if you are thinking of being back at it full time.
I sympathise about having to still be going through the school/homework./sulking routine with a young one. I have one still at school. And cousins a similar age to me who are already great grandmothers to primary school children. Can you imagine the hassle shopping for Christmas for so many!0 -
In my youth I planned to retire to the heat by the time I was 55.
I have 5 months! Erm don't think any amount of positive thinking is going to manifest that dream do you?
I am still awake after 9pm -amazing.
But only because I was day dreaming and looking at houses for sale in Portugal. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I am awake. A mixed bag of dreams interspersed with trips to the loo and a bit of wide awake moments in the early hours. The brain is becoming more active and trying to drag the body with it!
I cancelled the sewing lessons, and tomorrow's course. I haven't enough go getting oomph to teach two ADHD children this week.
I am struggling with the worst pile of jobs ever. All my lady has left me with is heavy duty coats needing zips, and curtains and bedding to do.
It took me most of yesterday to do two zips and a half of a third coat. Well I did it, but it wasn't level so I had to unpick it and start again on one side.
Tonight is our little Friday treat where my friend and I collect the kids from After school club and have our tea in the local pub. I'm not sure I really want too! She did say she would take DGD for me if I'm not up to it, so I do have a get out of jail card if I need it. I will see how I cope with today.
I need to learn the pin for my new first direct card as I ended up putting the shopping on my credit card as I couldn't think what the pin was!
Staff is going to start sorting out the scrap bags, remnants etc today, and we are going to see if we can sell some of the fabric in the shop. I don't expect it will fly off the shelf but you never know it might make me some money to be able to buy in newer fabrics.
(But not this month, all I am buying is zips as we need them this month).
The takings in January were down approximately £1,000 on the normal month, hence I struggled with the bills. This month is not expected to be much better. I really need to get people into the shop, on the courses and buying the stock!, not just the alterations.
Of course we don't have the clothing left either, so that makes it even harder. But I am determined we will get through the month as starting in March the Wedding Season usually starts.
On the personal side, it's time for me to re-read Mari Kondo, and by the time I have done that hopefully I will be well enough to start blitzing at home, as the house needs redecorating, and making into a home not a dumping ground! Or latterly a bomb site!
Right it's gone 7am no more excuses I must get out of bed and launch myself into the day, starting with a shower as my hair is a mess! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Mooloo - just change the PIN in your new card to one you can remember-0

The wedding season! I just had a thought, you know how you wear something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, how about making some pale blue, lacy, garters? Something like this maybe?

They seem to sell for a reasonable price and don't look that expensive in terms of raw materials to make.0 -
Getting footfall into a shop is always desirable, buy I can't help wondering if you would do better developing your online presence.0

Yes. You are right, I'm still learning how to edit my site etc.
My current dilemma is juggling my time, as there needs to be a lot of time out into the photographing, cataloging and putting in payment systems etc.
If I had not been so ill I may have done more in the last month but I may still get some time in February once I am caught up on the jobs that are already in.
I'm drowning in replacement zips at the moment. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well I have made it through the day in the shop on my own. Just.
There is still something not quite right about the way I feel. My head is rather light headed, I feel a bit spaced out I suppose. I'm not on any medication so it's got to be the last of the virus. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I am tucked up for the night. Electric blanket on. Tea making things beside the bed for the morning.
Tomorrow is one of my grandsons christening. So DS and his little family needs lift, and so does my Mum. So a bit of a taxi tomorrow then.
I hope I don't feel light headed tomorrow or nobody will be going. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
