  • *beam* Found a book I really wanted to buy for a friend's small child who turned 1. It had an infimitesimal amount of damage on the back cover so I asked and received a 50% discount! I was expecting 10! :)

I do have a quandary as my Council Tax has been exempted from payment for another year due to the flood. Is this a legitimate womble? I did claim the refund I was given for the end of this financial year, but that was a quarter of this new amount, so I'd be interested to hear if you think I can claim it fellow Wombles?

I think if it's essentially free money then it's a womble?

Yup - free money in exchange for living in a reclamation yard :rotfl:

That means this womble is worth £2198 over the next 12 months  *sits down, all of a fluster*

 Hooray! Huge congratulations on the new home - have fun putting your stamp on it. Mighty big difference in the cost of renting and your mortgage too! That's a huge amount each month! Any plans for it - holibobs maybe?

Plans? erm.. getting the roof fixed, decorating, taking out the coin meters in all the bedrooms of the family '-NO it has never been a rental' house, getting bedroom doors without yale locks, sorting the plaster (it is falling off) getting rid of the 2 bathroom you wouldn't wash a dog in - the RSPCA would have words if you tried- carpets, electrics etc, oh, and a kitchen - is currently has a sink and one cupboard the rest of the room has disappeared.

Sitting here with a massive grin on my face!!:D

Lots of work:D lots of fun:D lots of cleaning:(

It will be really nice, it isn't now, but it was once and it will be again. The best thing about it?
My MIL is going to HATE it.:rotfl:

£4000 wombled on accommodation until December 2016.

Time to start a MFW diary!!

  • Hello lounging in the airport before our long haul flight to the other side of the world to visit our parents for THREE WEEKS! Trying so hard to contain our excitement and barely succeeding.

Had some fantastic wombles to report. DH asked me to pick up His favourite cologne in B@@ts yesterday. I nearly bought it but because of the long wait at the check out counter I decided to go somewhere and come back at a later time. After leaving the store, I passed by Perf Shop and saw the same cologne for a bargain price of £22.95 compared to B@@ts and Debhams (on sale at £52.). That's a whopper savings of £30. It even came with a weekend bag. I was so pleased with my bargain. And because of my good bargaining skills, I decided I too deserved a perfume. Unfortunately I am very hard to please (I did warn the sales lady). I also said, it's no use selling me a big bottle as I get tired of the scent quickly and I stop wearing the perfumes after a week or so. In the end she recommended a refillable spritzer / atomiser for £6 which turned out as a pleasant surprise because she filled it with the perfume closest to my taste. another freeby!

    I also found 3p roadkill in £world.
