  • Hi wombles,
I'd like to sort of join...I've been leaving "money off next £20 shop" vouchers for wombles to find in the supermarkets.
I forgot my nectar card a few times but I kept the receipts! And will be claiming the points on next trip to big supermarket. This is a big change for me!
I found £1 roadkill a few weeks ago.
I have some freebies coming my way which I can ebay later in the month.
You're wombling is rubbing off on me! I think I should join properly and keep it up!

I was on a 4.5 miles this morning, eyes down looking for roadkill, but alas, nowt. However I popped to the shop for my friend and he told me to keep the change, so 71p wombled!:T
Yesterday, I bought my daughter's birthday gift from Boots in the sale, £10 down to £5! My Boots advantage card wouldn't swipe so this morning I ordered a replacement. I've got £1.96 on there and when the new one arrives I can add other points to it.

    I love this thread!:T

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    edited 1 January 2016 at 5:08PM
Went to Mr S. I took 4 wombled reciepts with me and had them add those on for 11 points. I shopped using a list and had several coupons in my purse for extra points.
There was a lot of discounted meat. I bought a whole chicken for £3. A pack of 500g pork for £1 & two packs of 8 sausages for 75p each. That's easily a weeks meat for less than £6. The chicken will be cooked tommorow for a roast.

I also decided that as I needed new tops I'd make use of an 800 point voucher if I spent £20. (Xmas money) I was very annoyed having shopped to find the exact value and managed to get a shirt and 2 long sleeved t shirts for £20.50 that when I got to the till one of the tops had been reduced further than was marked. You would think this was good but it meant my coupon wouldn't work.!
So I've emailed them to complain and said I'd specifically shopped to benefit from the points and don't see why I shouldn't get them for that reason. My only choice was to cancel off all my shopping, go and look for another top, & possible have exactly the same thing happen.

Anyway after taking off £15 in nectar points I managed to earn 40 extra points for buying a box of eggs I'd have got anyway and as the total spend before vouchers was £43 I used a 5 x points voucher as well.
Total spent today was £28 in total but I feel I got all the essentials we needed plus freezer food so I'm pleased with that. Have almost £5 in points accrued still.

Came home and made the Christmas roast veg into a soup using the turkey stock and frozen scraps of spaghetti. It's really nice and rustic.

We did go to a coffee shop too but 1 of the drinks was free using points.

So not a NSD in the end but I feel I shopped very well.

Oh and son found 2p in road kill to start the new score.

Well done DM. It's my belief that 5ps and 1ps are the most thrown away roadkill for some reason. See what you think this year.
