Dangerous Drivers (especially cabs)

Because driverless cars are the future.
The near future in the US. The far future in the UK and EU.
At the moment they are encouraging drivers that know no better into getting huge loans which mean when they drop the rates the drivers who are too inexperienced to work elsewhere are stuck and have to work extra hours to make ends meet.
In a City like London I don't think driverless cars will work.
The roads in many areas are not compatible.
That is before you consider the problems such as vandalism, people peeing or vomiting in the vehicle and also the legal situation with people using driverless cars to transport guns and drugs round London using pay as you go credit/debit cards to sign up, like many have done with Uber and Hailo.
When I first joined Uber I signed up for a passenger account so I could see where the other drivers where.
I signed up with an unregistered Pay as you go card.
There is a lot of criminality and fraud surrounding the Uber platform, Hailo managed to sort most of it out. Though I think they ended up having problems with HailoExec which is likely the reason why HailoExec was quietly closed down at short notice.
I don't believe London's roads will be a problem that the technology will not be able to overcome especially in a city such as London where there is big money to be made. Even if the technology has issues with certain roads it would not be difficult for them to program their systems to send a human driver to a job that includes a road the driver less car cannot use.
The possible use by criminals will have no or little impact on driver less cars. If the potential use by criminals was an issue for technology the government would ban PAYG mobile phonesn an PAYG credit cards etc.
The unaccompanied (No passenger) use of the vehicles for the delivery of drugs or guns is fairly easy to overcome by only allowing the door to be opened from the inside.
If you mean drugs and guns being delivered with a passenger in the vehicle, then it would be no different to now where it can be carried out in a Black Cab, PH or Uber.
The vandalism & vomiting etc in the vehicle is not that big an issue as the incidences will be relatively low but even when they do happen the software can just allow the passenger to reject the vehicle and another clean vehicle be sent in replacement.0 -
Funny how anything that forces cabbies to declare their true income is bad. If cabbies weren't amongst the biggest group of tax evaders then I'd probably have more sympathy. Never met a cabbie yet that doesn't massage takings to pay minimum amount of tax.All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0

Next thing you'll be accusing them of putting signs saying "Cash Only" on their credit/debit card machines when there's nothing wrong with the machine they've just earned the amount they want to declare to HMRC0 -

As if they'd do such a thing :rotfl:All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0 -

For some reason I found the following story quite amusing at the time

cue both sides accusing the other of being tax avoiding scum0 -
You clearly have led a very sheltered upbringing.
Even when working for the NHS I had sometimes 2 or 3 jobs in the go.
It's called "Working"
And "Working" is an activity performed by "Adults" now "Adults" often carry out the activity called "Work" for the sole purpose of "Providing" for their "Family".
Part of a "Family" are "Children".
Now the aforementioned "Adults" do this activity called " Working" as often as is needed and for as many hours as is needed.
During a "Working" life an " Adult" does many jobs, some for a few months some for a few years and sometimes for many years.
You can also term a "Working" life of an "Adult" a "Career".
Now sometimes people have a long uneventful "Career".
Some people like a varied "Career".
Some people think "Servitude" is "Progress"
Some people also live their entire life with their "Parents"
Others leave home at 18 and become "Adults" soon after.
What work am I doing now?
What work are you doing now?
Why should this thread be all about me?
Of course I understand why you want to hear from an "Adult".....
Maybe a better upbringing would have got you some manors and a better education would have seen you in a job able to support your family with one job.
But do keep up the insults as your post contain more to them then evidence to back up your poor arguements.0 -
A chip on my shoulder?
It's called facts and what I can see with my own eyes.
Where are these facts then? Since it's such a widespread and consistent problem you should have no problem posting a source of the raw numbers that shows how bad Uber drivers are, the continual rant and avoiding posting any factual evidence at all suggests otherwise.

Thanks to those who helped with answers to my enquiry.
Then what happened?? Some kind of mud-slinging debate seems to have taken off!
Anyway, I will post what results from the reportage of the incident. For the record, no obvious company signage was on the cab.BE HEALTHY, STAY POSITIVE AND PERSEVERE0 -
