Vulpix I am glad you have made friends with Mr.V Life can become very overwhelming when your surroundings have to change , your routine and the stress of health added in , its no wonder things become a struggle. The things that get me through are the simplest things I would of never used a tool , such as walking , just a simple short stroll , fresh air , word searches as I have to use focus and it helps push other overwhelming thoughts out of my head.
My mum suffers depression and lately I have noticed a lift in her mood since she started doing crafty activities such as latch hooking (which I learnt today lol) So I am not sure if anything like that can help channel some focus away from the daily stresses you are going through. I hope nothing I have said is patronising , I am not the best at typing my train of thought!

Hugs to all! I am determind to re start my uni revision today lol! x

Thank you for the welcome, its much appreciated. I have been in a bad place this last 2 1/2 years with my 3 precious grandchildren being taken into care. Youngest has gone home, grandaughter has been fostered by us for 18 months and eldest (grandson) is still in care. they are both in transition for home, grandaughter for going home and grandson to us for us to foster him till adulthood, We are in a better place now as they will be back in May.
Like I said I have followed you all for four years and reading your posts has helped me see others have worse situations than your own, especially Junior, I read everyday but it was Fiesty's brilliant news that I just had to reply to. Sorry for the log post.
    Take care xx

SUESAD that's awful, you must really have been through the mill. I truly hope your eldest DGS is soon home with you and all of you can rebuild your family life.

JJ, I think you're right about the word searches and crafting. I've been doing loads of sudoku, solitaire and bubble mania on the iPad recently and it really does stop you being able to brood. I've always resorted to my miniatures hobby at times of stress too.

    FREE hope you're ok.

Well I didn't have the colonoscopy today I had a different but similar procedure instead so didn't need sedation. Now it's a waiting game while they review all the pics and scan results then I see my consultant on 23rd and find out the results and the plan of action. I've got a lovely week with DGD staying next week for half term so I'll be aiming not to think about it at all. Bit the bullet yesterday and put Bonnie's bed and toys away. Still seems very strange coming home without her here to greet us though.

Free - Oooo how annoying! Worth trying to see if guarantee still valid, you never know.

Feisty - Congratualtionsss!!!!!! Adorable little baba. Hope DH recovers quickly and you can get back to your special family time.

Nic - Take care of yourself x

MrsI - Yippee for the new roof :D

JJ - 'Sounds' like your making good headway with gifts. Sorry to hear you've had a rough time. Your determination and strength never ceases to amaze me!

suesad - welcome out of lurkdom :-) hugs x

vulpix remember to be kind to yourself also :)

I'm not a fan of this awful weather! Looking forward to spring arriving. For those book lovers of you, I have just finished reading 'The girl on the train'. Not my usual theme of book, I prefer something light hearted ect. However had seen a lot of good reviews and downloaded it to my kindle yesterday, I literally finished it this afternoon :rotfl: Recommended to any of you looking for a book to read.
I was glad my body seems to be back in working order this weekend. Our rough start to the year was I had a miscarriage on the 3rd Jan at 7+1. Luckily my body sorted itself out and no need for other intervention, although 7hours in a hospital being scanned and prodded wasn't much fun. Two of our closest friends had a MC last year and she is now due in 3months so it has been nice to have their support, as we only told them, our parents and BIL+his partner (BIL had guessed I was pregnant over xmas).

Good morning everybody I hope all you lovely ladies are well,it seems odd posting in a morning I always post st night, ar well needs must.
Peppapig I was very upset to hear your news, it will have been a real shock for you.The 23rd will be here before you know it and you will feel more in control when you have your plan of action in place.I did shed a tear for Bonnie as I believe they are not pets, they are family and the heartache is like no other, so my Hun you are in my thoughts and prayers.Fiesty congrats to you both, Eleanor is a beautiful name for a beautiful baby I'm so so pleased for you. Lovely to see you junior j your walk on the beach sounded bliss, glad you had a good day. Welcome Suesad you have had a tough time of it, I hope that things are now improving for you and your family will be reunited.Free and Murie thank you for asking about Harper. This week has been dreadful, darling d in law to b got taken into hospital very poorly, she was put in her own room as they wanted Harper to stay with her as she is still a newborn and being breastfed. Well she had surgery Thursday and they came home yesterday thankfully. As for me I've still got the infection from post opp, without going into detail it's from treatment I have daily so it's affecting my other meds, so it's wearing me out. I know I have read on one of the other forums people saying they have tried other treatments ( not on here) than prescribed meds, I take a large amount of meds i will not survive very long without them so it's a nightmare when there is a problem. Hugs to those that need them hope you all enjoy your pancakes later, see you all soon Boo x

    Happy Pancake Day!!

Kids persuaded husband to make them pancakes for breakfast which means lots of cleaning up after the school run for me. The indesit engineer is coming out today to fix my dryer as it is one of the ones that is faulty. My house still feels cluttered, going to try to declutter a room a week starting after the holidays. I just need to finish going through the kids clothes as they have both had huge growth spurt.
juniorj- your walk on the beach sounds great, hoping to maybe get a trip to the beach over the school holidays.
vulpix-glad to hear you are feeling more like yourselfx
Suesad-It sounds like you have had a very difficult time, can only imagine how you must of felt.
peppapig- Sounds like you have a lovely half term week planned. Lifting prayers up for you x
Newthrift- so sorry to hear your news, glad that you have some good friends who you can talk to about it. Sending hugs x
babyboo- Hope your daughter in law to be is feeling better. Hope you manage to get rid of this infection too, everybody seems to be having such a tough start to the new year xx
Free- Hope you are ok and the pain has eased x

Feisty, hope Eleanor gets over her reflux, (no fun at all, that.) and hope that Mr FF gets the treatment and care he needs to get as well as he can.
JJ what can l say, you amaze us all. I am sure that you will ace your June exams as no doubt you will pursue your revision with your positive attitude .
Baby-Boo, you look after yourself .
Vulpix, well done on making friends with your DH, (so long as he realises that he was at fault and he owes his forgiveness entirely to your magnanimity, lol)
DGS is off school ill, achey bones bad back and Ds&Vs, school policy is 24 hours clear before return, so grumpiness for another day l suppose. He hates being ill and missing school!.......He hates waking up and getting ready for school too, so no winners there.
Need a coffee then l can begin the great clear up mission, xxxxx

BABYBOO so sorry to hear about your DDIL and your ongoing health problems. Here's hoping they get you stabilised very soon so your daily meds can do their job and you can get on with your life. Big hugs to you and yours.

NEWTHRIFT what a horrid start to the new year for you but your body has recovered and soon your heart will recover too. You'll never forget the little one that wasn't meant to be but however trite it sounds, time really is a great healer. My honorary DD who lost her baby at 7 months last summer is pregnant again with no complications identified and very much looking forward to the new baby although never forgetting little Otis.

0462 happy pancake day to you too. I've cheated and got the ready made version although I will be putting the lemon and sugar on myself lol. I don't like the ones I make, they either come out too thick or nice and thin but too crispy at the edges!

Poor DH is in bed with a migraine so is it wrong that I've just watched 'Call Me Claus' even though it's February and the sun is shining :D

JJ- you truly are an inspiration to us all, Im glad you blew the cobwebs of worry away for a little while on your beach walk- sounds serene if not a little windy! Im sure you will ace your exams too- with the determination that you apply to everything how can you not lol?

sadsue- its sounds as if the last few years have been awful, hopefully things will start to improve now for you and your family. Glad that you decided to come out of lurkdom x

    Free- everything OK?

Princesskitty- hope everything is Ok with you and wiggle?

Peppa- so no 'blowout' on Monday then? (you know what I mean lol!). I agree with Boo, once you have some information you will feel more in control. Enjoy your week with DGD- what have you got planned?

Newthrift- my heart goes out to you, as Peppa says, you will always have a place in your heart for that little one. Things will get better x My DD has just finished a Uni assignment on The Girl on the train- an interesting read but a bit a too bleak for me.

Boo- you are having a time of it again aren't you? Don't forget to look after yourself in the process of looking after everyone else. Im not a massive believer in alternative treatments but as long as they can be used alongside and don't interfere with conventional ones then why not give them a go? Cant hurt.

Vulpix-its horrible being out of sorts but easy to feel that way when your sanctuary is not all as it should be. Home improvement is nice once its finished but awful whilst its in progress. Im sure everything will come together well in the end.

Mrs I- you can relax now the roof is sorted. How is your garden fairing with all this awful weather? Hope DGS feels better soon.

04624181- it was good of your DH to make pancakes for the kids, even if he did make a mess. My DH only knows where the fridge is- or more accurately where the cheese drawer is in the fridge! We aren't having pancakes, none of us are too keen. (Peppa- I don't blame you for buying them- mine are hit and miss too!)

Well I am sat waiting for my new dining table and chairs to be delivered. Our old ones are wrecked thanks to the little sabre toothed lion that allows us to live with him. And they are falling apart thanks to my big b*m sat on them, so new ones were desperately needed. I hate waiting. Ive taken the old ones to the tip and DH is having the old table which is still in good condition for his new office, so we cant eat til the new ones come. I just hope the little monster doesn't tear these ones!

Enjoy the day everyone, cold but lovely spring sunshine! I saw daffodil bulbs in bud over the park today- just hope the bad weather doesn't kill them before they get their chance to shine.

    Have a great pancake day!

    Take care everyone x
    lovin' this site!

  • Hi all

Thanks for all the good wishes for my week off. It was the laziest week I have ever had and felt absolutely NO guilt at all.
My DH and me went to stay with friends in Lincs this weekend and had a trip to Woburn Safari Park. It was a great day and the monkeys were so entertaining jumping from car to car and looking in the windows at the strange people inside. I did get a bit scared when 3 huge rhino began to chase the car. The keeper pulled his truck between them and the cars and herded them back to their pens! Sadly the giraffes- my fav animals- were not out, maybe due to the wind but they did keep popping their heads out of the tops of the stable doors.

Vulpix, put me down for a roller for your party.

Feisty. A huge welcome to Eleanor and congratulations to the new parents.

Suesad. Welcome to the thread. I hope the transition for your grandchildren is as smooth as possible.

Newthrift. Such sad news but pleased to hear you have someone else who has been through the experience to support you both.

Well, I have plans this weekend. I am going out with my BFF for a meal on Friday then out for my Mam's 70th birthday on Saturday. I am going to do some batch cooking on Sunday as the ready meals I make for the freezer are rather depleted.

    See you all soon

Hugs to all who need them

    xxx
Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible:j
Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say
    Loving de-cluttering
