  • 0462 - i meal plan... or try too lol having a house with 3 adult/teen children it isn't always easy as often one or 2 aren't home to eat.. youngest dd doesn't eat alot and has set foods so they are always in the house anyway. I start the week with a list of main meals for each day, make a shopping list of what i need to buy and buy that on a tuesday. MEals get swapped around day for day etc. Once a month i will sort out whats in the freezer and cupboards and use that up for a week or two and then start again. There is never any left overs with the amount of mouths to feed in our house lol so nothing usually gets frozen sadly.

Feisty - ooo sounds promising. i bet she makes an appearance on the 27th at 6.20pm ;) lol walking is good! but just not too much, don't want to get too tired ;) lol

pixie fairydust - hi and yay to your dd! it takes alot of strength to turn that around and stand up to the ex (i was there nearly 13 years ago now and never looked back) so good for her!

i've managed to grab some fab bargains recently for the pressie cupboard - tescos - zoomer puppy down to £6 from £40, bopit beats down to £5, minecraft blind boxes were bogof, lego blind bags 60p. a frozen card came £1 from £6, umm can't remember what else from there lol then popped into clintons for a few bits too. oh and lots of toys/games in wilkos for silly money in their 75% off sale can't remember if i've mentioned those before.

i seem to have caught another virus thanks to my lovely children lol half of my throat is swollen, jaw really hurts (nothing new there as i have a tmd that won't go away) and my eye is all swollen and leaky delightful huh lol thought it was just a cold but those are odd symptoms so putting it down to a virus lol still hoping to swim tomorrow though. touch wood

Not relishing this at all as I have been pretty terrible this week. Too much socialising(and wine!)

Happy birthday to those celebrating and hugs to all who need them

    XXX
Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible:j
Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say
    Loving de-cluttering

Pixidust well done your DD, but pity she was made ill by the ex, well done you on the Christmas front.
And you mrs G, lots of pressies sorted eh?
This has been a wasted week so far, as achievement goes, but l have spent time with friends, catching up and so on. (which is far more fun, interesting and rewarding) so maybe l have achieved after all.
l have lost one of the 5lbs l gained over Christmas, hard going though.
Now it is time to get DGS up and ready for school, wish me luck......
  • Morning all!

Not much happening in my life at the mo. Had the bathroom cabinet delivered so bathroom now sorted. Why do we accumulate so much, by the time I was finished, I was too embarrassed to count how much deodorant I had, oh well, at least I won't smell for a while!

My brother finally brought me some of the wine boxes which were being upcycled, so need to sort out the dvds. Not sure when I am going to get time, especially as I am going to the Crime Museum on Saturday. The "cabinets" look amazing, I was going to varnish them, but he said that they have been stained with a stain & wax mix, so I doubt if it would work.

Feisty, hope you chilling, Pixie, glad DD had courage and has your support to give her the courage, in the words of Prof Brian Cox, " Things can only get better!, Free, hope you feeling better, Mrs I, 1lb is not to be sneezed at.

Welcome to all the newbies and the lurkers who have had to courage to say hello.

Jess, hope you had the operation you wanted and coming along nicely.
A smile costs little but creates much :)
  • Morning all, hope everyone is well, and hugs to those that need them (havent had time to catch up yet, so I apologise if I have missed anything important).

Just need a big vent - work havent paid me any of my overtime for December. Apparently my sheet got "misplaced". As I am supply, all of my hours are classed as overtime, so that's over 80 hours I am not being paid for this month.

I have told them they need to sort it out, and they are telling me there is nothing they can do.

To say I am livid is an understatement, and very very tempted to refuse to work until they have paid me - but that will probably just back fire so best not do that!

I had promised dd2 new clothes this month (which she is desperate for) and my amazon basket is filled with a couple of super good bargains for xmas (which isnt desperate, but still annoying).

    Grrrrrr
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

    Hello everyone :hello:

Its been a while since I visited! My DD had a "meltdown" thanks to her idiot ex-partner. He has been bullying and intimidating her to the point she cracked! So its been a tough few weeks but she has turned a corner.

Unfortunately ex is still on the scene as kids involved but DD has really put her foot down and he hates the new "tough" her! :T

Christmas and NY were great under the circumstances!

    Here's to a fab 2016!

Prep for Christmas 2016 so far.......

The C@rd Factory - 2 x stockings 99p each - will embroider names on them for my nieces. They visit in the summer from Dubai so I will wrap up for them to take home in August!

The C@ard Factory - 2 x xmas teddies £1.49 each for Xmas Eve hamper for DGD's.

The C@ard Factory - xmas wrap reduced to 49p - lots of rolls. Just need to buy a good plastic tub to keep it all in under my bed or the cats will have a field day shredding it all!!!

    Have a great day.

    Pix
    xx

Oh hun, your poor DD! You must be really proud that she's stood er ground though :) The Range have some specific wrapping paper tubs, but I do find that they can be a bit steep for their storage container prices - some great bargains for you!

Msgigglewick I know what you mean about lack of leftovers to freeze. Even if I do up a double portion DH has a habit of picking at it so there isn't enough to freeze  I've been a lot stricter this year as we are filling the freezer for when baby comes and so he's on orders to eat a blooming pudding or something else if still hungry ;)

How did the weigh in go?

MrsI well done on the weight loss!

Well baby is still in residence! I took it a bit easier yesterday, but want to get some cleaning done today :) I have some lemons that need using and so I do hope I can whip up some lemon drizzle cupcakes for the freezer :)

We currently have a freezer full of about 10 meals (leftovers and quick cook meals) and lots of lovely cinnamon buns and nutella and almond swirls. I've done really well so far on not binning anything and pretty much all stuff has been used in date (only casualties that I can recall were bacon that had an odd smell before it's use by  and a pack of coriander that I forgot to put in a curry!) I'm feeling very chuffed :)

Mrsgigglewick- you nabbed some good bargains there!
Mrs I- as long as you have had a lovely time with your catch ups its not wasted time!

Pinknfluffy- OMG- 80 hours!!! Someone needs to do their job properly!! Hope they can sort it soon- don't let it rest til they do x

GTQ- those dvd racks sound good- love the idea of up cycling.

    Free- how is DD?

Feisty- baby is obviously nice and comfy . Well done on using up all the food , Im trying but that reminds me I have some cauliflower cheese that I need to throw away!

Nothing much going on at mo, except DD came home from Uni earlier and has a massive crack in her windscreen so waiting for insurance company to get back to us. They haven't got the glass in stock (mini cooper) so guess who will be taking her to uni on a 3 hour round trip tomorrow morning and picking her up tomorrow night if they don't get back to her today? Yup- Moms taxi!
    lovin' this site!

    Good Evening :-)

Pixie Fairydust - Well done to your DD for having the strength! I love the idea of getting the christmas stockings and emboridering the names on, this idea I will store away for later use thanks!
msgigglewick - thank you for the wilko's games heads up.
freespirit - Thank you, thing's have picked up now and we are moving forward.
    MrsI - 1lb is better than 0lb :D
pinknfluffy - :( hope they get it sorted! Maybe moving forward take a photocopy of your sheet if possible? I know that doesn't help for the 80hours owed.

I'm just about to purchase two bargin mugs with 'mummy' and 'daddy' on from Emma bridgewater. Two of our very good friends are due on 2nd May and me and another friend are doing a big hamper. Well the mugs are on offer for £5.95 each and i've got free delivery so thought it would be something nice that isn't specifically for baby.

Nothing much to report in from my end. Had a good tidy and clean in the house today, just our bedroom to do and the ironing which can wait until Saturday.

    Hugs all round :)
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

  • Evening everyone,

    :bdaycake:HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICKI :bdaycake:

JJ i too hope that the op went ahead and you are recovering well honey x

MRSMONEYPENNY i watched the film of your favourite book today The Book Thief, oh what a lovely sweet film i really enjoyed it!

MRSINVISIBLE haha i think i have put on 5lb today alone :D being cold and tired = eating everything in sight apparently!

GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY im much better thankyou, your dvd boxes sound amazing!

PINKNFLUFFY oh no wonder you are seething, they dont realise what an inconvenience these things cause! It happened to DS one month last year and he had to wait until payday the next month, he too was not happy! I would feel exactly like you about no more work until being paid but it would backfire on you unfortunately :D
Im sure DD will understand whats happened

MURIE she is doing really well, she thought she would be a nightmare, and kept apologising beforehand but it was the first time she has ever had an op, so didnt know what to expect, i have been making her soft food and making sure she has taken her painkillers!! Thankyou for asking :) I hope your journey to and from uni goes well, be careful! I hope her windscreen gets sorted quickly for her!
