Evening ladies,
Still getting into the swing of my new job. I'm finding it hard that I need to go everyday lol. I'm so used to working in a pub and doing a mon, fri, sun night. So having to get up everyday and go to the same place is filling me with dread. I also like the 4 ladies I work with. But again I'm filled with dread at the thought of having to work with them every day and if I do anything wrong I am not good at dealing with getting a row. In the pub I worked on my own so no one on my back, and as a carer I was in each service users house on my own. Just don't want to slip up. Hopefully I will settle in and get used to it. It's been years since I worked 5 days a week.
Thanks freespirit yes I did enjoy roller derby training, back again tonight so feel good. Gets the old endorphins going.
I picked up some cheap crackers in the coop and some cute reindeer paper cups and christmas napkins for 30p in Tesco. That's about all ive done for Christmas so far, that and my stocking fillers.
I'm managing to keep up with the penny challange and fill my tin.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Aw you lot say the nicest of things! Truly the staff on the ward I am on are lovely. To be able to give back is the least I can do. I still haven't had the mri with contrast which is what I need to determin if and what surgery I may have on Friday.
Free I will have to remember that tip!
Murie I hope your tea was a nice one!
Fiesty The baking looks good , how was the bread?
Hugs and love to everyone
Adding more to my blog and then will post the link so I can stop clogging the thread up with my hospital updates! I have slept most the day away so will probably be watching films tonight.:o

:rotfl: I have put stuff in my basket 3 times online and then closed the page down. To be honest I was a bit disappointed with the Boots sale this year, all the good stuff was sold out and anything else I might have considered only had a few ££'s knocked off. However, now that there have been further reductions I am tempted to get some of the fragrance gift sets to put away for birthdays & Christmas this year. I might pop in to store and see if the stock levels are any better than online.
I haven't done much in regards to Christmas lately. I did get some of that This Works sleep spray in the sale on lookfantastic.com because I know a few family members that like it so it will make a nice little stocking filler for them in Christmas 2016!!0 -
Good to see you back posting Jess, you are a true inspiration
:j
Free, sorry to hear you have all been a bit under the weather, hopefully this means that you have got it out of the way.
Feisty, hope bump is cooking nicely and you are taking the last couple of weeks of freedom easy.
Welcome to the newbies and welcome back to those who have been away.
Well, made an attack on the spare room, more to do, but looking much better. Decided to have a coffee after 2 hours, put the kettle on and it was another hour before I actually made it! Why is it that we multi task? Emptied dryer while kettle was boiling and one thing led to another.....
Finally found the freestanding cabinet I want for my bathroom -£200 , but it is solid oak so will last. Had a bonus at work for Christmas, so will use some of that to buy it. Then made the mistake of opening the post which came in over Christmas, I have a subscription to crime magazines. I had it in my head that the renewals were due in Dec, but because I had a 3 year subscription, wasn't sure, nothing had come through for Jan mags so assumed that I was wrong. I wasn't, they are due in MarchCue a payment for £351 for the next 3 years:eek:. However, as I do it for 3 years, I get a much better deal, so it has worked out at 3 years for a little over the cost of 2 years. Went straight online to set up yet another savings account at bank, less painful paying in £10 per month than paying the full amount in a single go;)
I need to sort out annual leave or I will face losing it by end of March, everything going well, I will go to Egypt on 17th March and return on Easter Monday. Not sure how well that will go down as I am going to Madrid at beginning of March, but I am caught for Feb as boss will be finally having his operation on 10th Feb and will be unable to drive for about a month which means that I will need to drive to his house a couple of times a week with work related stuff. Oh well, better have the conversation with him tomorrow as there is no way on earth that I am losing annual leave.A smile costs little but creates much0 -
In general or as stocking fillers, Superdrug has Lynx shower gel for 85p, off to stop my brother smelling next year!A smile costs little but creates much0

Popped to the boots sale this am... was a lot more busy than I've seen other years. But did manage to get £196 of goods for £14 after points and vouchers were taken off and I got £6 in points for next year already too. Not toys in ours though. But did get my nephew a cute dinosaur onesie and some big boy undies lol both for a few pounds each.
Won't be doing much in the way of Xmas shopping now till June I think.Totally debt free wohooo 2014

bit of a quiet day as felt a bit coldy as well and i will have to sort out this bed business as its not doing my pains any good at all
i really cant afford it but am looking into a single bed (i do not need a superkingsize for one person i am big but not that big :rotfl:) and then the travel cot will fit much better on the floor, i will have to have a good think whether to save up or bung it on CC, is it urgent? Or can i wait until i have paid christmas off?? Im a Libra i dont do decisions :rotfl:
PEPPAPIG haha yes of course itching thats a good one!! Its from Forev er Li ving (not sure i can promote anything on here) its not cheap £13 a tube, DD2 sells it (well tries to but she isnt pushy enough and too sensitive to be in sales) its her dream to be so successful at it that she can go part time at work and be home with Thumper) breaks my heart bless her! I have found it on amazon, not sure if you can buy it in health food shops or not?? I have taken two spoons today and it hasnt gone but has reduced the pain a lot
NIC oh my lovely you sound very down, its early days yet, and they are always nerve wracking! Always being scared of doing something wrong, sending you lots of hugs and i hope you settle in more this next couple of weeks. Glad you are still enjoying the roller derby, good for you!
