MRSINVISIBLE- Happy very belated birthday!
Re JL add... I think I prefer the Waitrose one!!! M&S I liked the idea but it went on a bit, I imagine when they move onto the shorter versions it will be better.
I did bake off with my friends on Sat, then froze alll day in a barn on Sunday, was going to enjoy a nice lie in today, until someone decided half 8 this morning was a good time to let off fireworksSo confused! lol.
I've said I'll do a blog post on Christmas wrapping for an art blog I'm sort of going to be a part of so I need to get onto that asap.
I'm doing secret santa yet again with my friends, and got a friends husband for mine, which originally I thought was great, but now I've come to it I'm doubting things. I don't know him THAT well, but I'm thinking a grow your own red wine plant kit (basically grape seeds!) I'm always nervous about them because they might not grow but I've found an etsy company in wales that package them flat so it keeps it to less than half the price limit (the square boxed ones all took up the whole of it!). Then I'm a little stuck... he likes cricket, and he's a lawyer, um... likes red wine obviously.. any ideas?
My back up plan is some fancy chocolates, we just got a hotel chocolat near us ...
xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

The Sainsbury's ad is really good this year, that and Kevin the carrot ae my faves so far.
There's a parody one on the web with Hillarys, the obamas & Donald's faces imposed over the ones of the dog and the people in the JL ad it is so funny.SPC~12 ot 124

Well, yesterday was interesting! Went to my friend for lunch, picked up a nice plant for her and another friend was picking up apple pie & cream from Costco, looking forward to a good gossip. Got there and saw a banner on the door with balloons. She had neglected to mention that it was actually her grandson's first birthday and his party was at her house:eek:. I was mortified, plant not really appropriate! Finally met her daughter, you know when you picture someone in your mind and real life they are completely different
Will pick up something for the little man later in the week, bless him, there were so many of us, he hadn't a clue what was going on &B was also tired, so had a few tears, but I got some lovely cuddles:D
Can't remember who mentioned the pasta bait, that is all over the place, untouched:mad: I have peanut butter on the traps, but not having success so far, hopefully something will happen by the time I get home as I really need a decent night's sleep. Woke me at 12:30 this morning and and was still keeping me awake gone 5:mad: So tired at the moment and I have class tonight. Was going to skip it, except I suddenly realised that I have copied the worksheets for next week, so it would be a bit unfair if I can get done and the others can't.
Trying to decide what to get my mum for Christmas. I bought myself a Regatta walking jacket/coat which is very warm, was thinking about getting her one.She would have warmth and it is waterproof, so best of both worlds.
Had to laugh at my aunt the other day, one of my Christmas cakes is for her, 10" square as I discovered that people have asked her for a piece, so she told me she would like it early December as there are some soiree type do's that she would like give a piece of it to the host. Nothing like getting your request in early! Well, it will be one more out of the way. Sorting out charity raffle this weekend, so that will be another one out of the way.A smile costs little but creates much0 -
Hi all, dark and dull here today. Went shopping this morning and got some 'original' toblerones and a tube of sweets for the kids stockings. For the past 2 years I've never been able to find the pink smarties so when I spied them last week (with children in tow) I knew I had to return sharpish to get them. Have hidden them in a draw which is unlikely to be opened. Now if I could only hide the toberlones from myself!:xmassmile:rudolf:0

Forgot to add, over the weekend I went into House of Fraser and bought some xmas decorations on sale. There was a big chunk of money off so I got some tiny tree-hanging snow globes (but these are going to sit on the window sill instead) and a few ballerina hanging decorations for my dance-mad daughter. Also visited the White Company (20% off) and got myself a winter reed diffuser, so it smells all christmassy here now!:xmassmile:rudolf:0

Just seen the Sainsburys add on facebook. Not particularly impressed. I can see where they were going with it but it wasn't at all entertaining to me.
Went to Asda this morning to collect my niece's carry along cafe. It is sooo cute. Also got 2 tubes of sweets that were 2 for £1.50. :T
Going to make a proper list this afternoon of what budget I have left for people/what I need to buy. A good list is very helpful. :rotfl:“In 900 years of time and space, I’ve never met anyone who wasn’t important”

I've finally seen the JL advert. It was cute. I prefer the M&S one though. I haven't seen the Aldi or Sainsburys on yet, I'll have to keep an eye out for it. Does anybody know if the Coca Cola advert has been on yet? That's always my 'oh it's officially christmas' advert : )
I hope everybody's weekend was enjoyable. I just can't believe how fast it went, it doesn't even feel like I had a weekend really because it was so busy! We had a nice dinner at my parents house yesterday, so at least I didn't have to cook. We discussed our Christmas plans with them as well and they were fine, I was a bit worried about it because we have decided that although we will visit on Christmas Day, we want to get home early enough to have dinner at our own house this year. I didn't know how they would take it, but they are fine with it and agree that it will be nice for us to have a Christmas day like that because for years and years we have always done all of our visiting on Christmas Day and not got home until around 9pm, so then we're all too tired to do anything & end up in bed as soon as we get home, so I have always felt like I don't enjoy the day very much but this year will be a lot more relaxed so I'm happy.0 -
According to one of the newspapers, the Sainsbury ad is on tonight at 9.15 and will take up the entire advert slot! Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

Thanks for adding me to the birthday list Freespirit. X
I got a text from my sister saying she actually like to have christmas day. Was meant to be at my house, but we all Couldnt quite decide. The thing is she is due her baby on the 18th of Dec! They will induce her or section as she was an IVF baby, so classed as precious. Or something like that.
So my sister and her hubby's logic is that they would be more comfortble in their own house with everything the need to hand, makes sense. My other sister and I will still be doing most of the prep and cooking. I'm doing the turkey at my house the night before.
I am a little disappointed as I had got my head round having it here and had the place decorated in my mind. I also have the 3 kids, so I like them to be able to play with all their toys and go to their own beds at a reasonable time. Plus my other 3 yr old nephew could just go up to bed with my kids. I also think my sister will be knackered and will want to go to bed early. I said we would be better in my house so she could leave when she wanted and not feel she had to ask us to leave. But she said she will be fine.
Having thought more about it, I'm just thankful to have everyone together, no matter who's house it is. Tomorrow is the 4 yr anniversary of my mum passing. 4 yrs ago today We were all sitting in her hospital room just chatting and being there for her even though she was out of it on morphine and no longer herself. I left at 8pm that night I said I'd see her in the morning. My dad called at midnight to say she had passed.
Plus my dad has fought cancer in the last year. I definently need to get over my worries and be thankful to have everyone with us.
On another note. I bought a tiny baby elf. It comes with Magic dust and a scan pic. We have a female and male elf, so I need to introduce the baby. And also realised I can only do it once as the baby should look older next year! What would you do? I'm thinking of introducing the scan pic at some point, then have the baby arrive on xmas eve. Just before they leave. Then it can come back next year and they won't think too much of it still being tiny. Or just have it come straight away and let them enjoy it, but probably not able to use it another year. Dilema lol x:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0
