I posted the question because one of my ex-tutors at Uni posted a link to this article and I thought it would be interesting to discuss it here because many British people go to the US for travel etc.
You sound and appear to be a very bothersome person... :eek:0 -
If anyone is daft enough put anything on Facebook whether it be extreme left or right wing and it can be tracked to you, those bigoted computers at Fort Meade will pick it up.
So super computers say this person is a possible risk, I doubt some junior official from Homeland security is going to ignore what a multi billion dollar computer says
There has been plenty of discussion on this board about people applying for ESTA's & possibly being refused entry - not once did anyone bring religion into itPrivate Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA

The US have the right to deny anyone entry, no question.
Why they wait until people are at the gate to inform them seems a bit harsh, I'd be interested to know when they applied for their ESTAs, if it was the day before, fair enough but if it was well in advance, they should really have told the airline earlier.Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -

The USA is no different to any other country.
A visa (or ESTA) can be overridden at the point of entry if you present as an undesirable -for example if you are entering for a holiday but carrying work tools or are claiming to be visiting friends when it's actually a relationship as well as the possibility of political affiliations or sympathies considered undesirable by the country you are entering.
In this case there were two flags in the party - a teenager expressing undesirable political views on social media - but more concerningly was the adult who not only was refused entry to Israel but detained for 8 days - which is very unusual and implies some very serious concerns. Any fool knows if you are deported or refused entry to a country that other countries friendly to them will not be eager to admit you in the future- even visiting certain countries will mean other countries will be questioning you before deciding if they will let you in or not which is why many businessmen have two passports (not a new thing - has been happening for decades) to avoid raising such flags although better data exchange often means nowadays they will still be questioned.
Frankly I'd rather any airline I travelled with was over cautious in either scenario. Nothing to do with race - I'd be expecting them to refuse carriage to a white supremacist claiming to be a member of some of the right wing groups responsible for violence too.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
