so Callum9999 what do YOU think the reason they were refused entry is?

Do you think it was because they were Muslim or something else?

Give me their file and I'll tell you.

While there's no doubt in my mind that the US immigration service is prejudiced (beyond what they "need" to be to do their job) at either an institutional level or among individual staff, there's no evidence they were prejudiced in this case (which is always the issue with the US - no evidence).

That seems more likely than a family group on a terrorist jaunt to LA, but I'm not as comfortable at making unsubstantiated accusations towards people as you seem to be.

so you don't know the reason they were not allowed in but your certain other peoples ideas are wrong.

what accusations did I make that you referred to?

What upsets you most about the story, Is it the fact a family were refused entry or is it the fact a Muslim family were refused entry.

I don't know the reason life developed on Earth, I'm certain it wasn't Thor... Not that I believe I ever said I'm certain of anything or that people's theory on what happened is wrong (other than comments about missing child wives)?

No idea, maybe I mixed you up with someone else. Though thinking drivel in that vile publication provides a "reasonable explanation" could count I guess.

The question doesn't make much sense, though either way the answer is neither. The Islamic faith is vile (ditto Christianity) so I have no particular desire to favour them, nor do I particularly care about anyone being denied entry to any country. I care about people being discriminated against because of irrational prejudice which seems to be a factor in this case. Though as you yourself don't care, I'm not quite sure why you're even discussing this?

How was discrimination and prejudice involved when people of all races and religions face the same scrutiny from the USA.
I doubt they were the first family to be denied entry and they certainly wont be the last.

Option 3 US Feds are kind of funny when you lie to them. Ask Martha Stewart. There was misinformation filled out on the the ESTA about being refused entry into a country. That should have been answered yes and an interview at the US embassy would have been necessary. That takes about 6 months for approval. They planned this trip 2 months in advance so an interview wasn't done. Also there is a question on the ESTA about affiliation with terrorist organizations and someone in that party claimed to be the leader of Al Qaida on social media. Again, an interview at the US embassy would have been required. 2 people were refused and the other 9 were allowed to board but chose not to.
Hundreds of American woman are refused entry into the UK for telling UK Border agents they are visiting a friend when it's really a boyfriend. So the moral of the story is when visiting a foreign country don't lie.
Interrupting Obama's Hawaiian vacation for this nonsense is ridiculous. Almost as much as the news media claiming Donald Trump has something to do with it. It's like saying Katie Hopkins had those American woman bounced if we are going to blame immigration policy on B list reality TV personalities with political aspiration's.

So where exactly where the wives of these kids and why was a family holiday men and kids only?

Yup,you can see why suspicions were raised immediately.
Plus the brother of one of them was detained in Tel Aviv for 8 days before being ejected from the country.
And intelligence was received about a Facebook page connected to the family address, containing extremist material sympathising with Al Qaeda.
Frankly all I see is the authorities taking no chances and you can hardly blame them in the current climate.

As a UKBA agent told me once unless you are a Citizen you can come knocking but we don't have to let you in.
Fair enough if you ask me.
  • If the various reports are correct and someone at the family address did make a facebook post stating that their employment was "supervisor at Taliban and leader at al-Qaeda", then I think that whoever made the decision to stop the family boarding the aircraft didn't do anything wrong.

20 years ago this sort of comment may well have been dismissed as a simple joke and there probably wouldn't have been any consequences but we live in a totally different world nowadays and anyone who makes this sort of comment on a public website deserves whatever happens as a result.
  • Good old USA. It is totally up to them who they allow in.
