Most jobs in my area get like over 60 applications and of course they'll take on the most experienced person.
What area are you covering in you job search? Rotherham itself is an employment black spot but you have Sheffield on the doorstep, and Nottingham a little further away. Are you looking further than your own doorstep?0 -
OP
You have been offered a wide gamut of great suggestions here, each of which you have dismissed.
Sounds like you are looking for excuses to validate inertia on your part.
You need to grow a pair0 -

Oh you are so wrong! I was so quiet and shy, but needed a job when I was doing my A levels. I started a Satruday job in Dorothy Perkins (despite not being a stereotypical teenage girl who loved clothes and shopping for them). From there, I moved into another retail job, where I was offered full time employment after my A levels. I worked there until my third child was born, when I left work as one of my children was born with major disabilities.
I could never have been described as a loud or outgoing person. I still can't be described that way, although now I have a lot more confidence. When asking customers for money, I used to rub my nose (my hand covered my face - I hated anyone seeing my face because I was so shy). I had to learn to talk a little louder, as I was too quiet for some customers to hear.
Retail helped me to develop confidence in myself, and overcome crippling shyness. Without that, I would never have volunteered for Guiding. Now, my volunteering has changed my life, for the better. I accept that you need money, but volunteering has so much to offer, both towards employment prospects and of personal gain (skills, confidence, self esteem, friends).
If you don't try something, you will never gain anything from it.0 -
For goodness sake. We are on multiple pages on a second thread that says the same thing as the first one. The OP won't or can't do anything at all. And won't give a shred of help by explaining why they are unemployable. Which, based on what the OP says, is the bottom line. They are unemployable. There is absolutely nothing that they can or will do about that.
When the OP wants to help themselves then there is a point in posting. Until that time they are wasting everyone's time suggesting things they won't do.0 -

I searched for jobs in Sheffield and Doncaster too, but no luck so far. I wonder if jobs are easier to find in the South0 -

Have you expanded your search ?0 -

There is plenty of unskilled work in and around your area. Lack of jobs is not the problem here.0 -

Gotta spend money to make money.
Also, I very generously offered you advice on mopeds - a cheaper alternative to driving a car, and one which opens up some other jobs
I also made more than just two points, so you have effectively ignored most of my advice which is a bit rude.
Before anyone offers you any further advice, I think that you should offer a full explanation for the phrase:
"I can't afford to volunteer atm, I need a full time job first"
To me, that either suggests that you are doing work on the side (and probably not declaring it to HMRC) or you just don't have any ambition whatsoever. If you are doing work on the side then put that money to good use, and if you aren't working on the side then you cannot justify the above phrase.0 -

There are thousands of available jobs in and around the Rotherham area. There are also thousands of unemployed people in Rotherham looking for work too so you need to stand out to look better than anyone else in your area. Sitting at home not doing anything at all is not going to make you stand out as the best possible candidate for a position.
You will have more issues in the South of the country as most employers of full time employees want someone who is local, ready, willing and able to start work ASAP.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Firstly thank you for offering me advise. The reason why I couldn't volunteer is because I have to pay for transport which will eat into my JSA.0
