Happy birthday Lynne. Must be a day for bday's Aunty, cousin's wife and their daughter today too!
Thanks for the good wishes - how strange you have so many of your family on the same day.

We had a strange pattern in our family

    Me - 17th Jan
    DB - 18th Jan

    DM - 1st March
    DGM - 2nd March

    DD - 25 July
    DGD 26 July

Now I'm the only one left but strangely my DH is 26 July :D

  • What game did you play Lex ?

The tourneys I talk about are "Texas Holdem" - where you have a fixed entry cost and it pays the last few standing with the one who finishes 1st getting the main draw.

Advantages are that you know how much you stand to lose and everyone starts with the same stakes. I like to keep it that way as my great grandfather is reputed to have lost a Velvet factory playing poker in the states ! :rotfl:

Anyway 4 tourneys today 3 non-scoring although I was well placed in the last 10 in the third and should have folded (but didn't) and finished 10th ! :o

The other one I won - so just $2.32 net profit to add today from that !

Now I'm wondering whether to continue at this level or step up to the $0.50 ones  - Maybe I should stay for a while since it's taken a long time to feel competent at this level - but then if you don't go forward, you don't improve do you ?

We played Texas as well. Sometimes Omaha. Personally I'm slightly better at Omaha.

  • Re-listed 4 items, completed 47 listings, 3 in the drafts waiting for photos, and more stuff to go tomorrow.

At least I used up 51 of my listings already though! Time I get done with the DVDs it'll be up to 63. Then I'll root out other stuff to sell.

Thing is, I'm loathe to sell clothing because every time I do I sell something for like 99p and then get rude messages that it "smells" like a) wash it what is wrong with you were you honestly going to buy second-hand clothing and not wash it and b) it's been crammed in an envelope in the postal system for 3 days it ain't exactly gonna smell of roses and c) it was 99p oh my god shut up.

Obviously I never give them refunds but it's just. So. Annoying.

I wash everything before I sent it but I live in a flat with no heat and no tumble dryer so everything takes 3 days to dry and just smells musty at the end of it anyway there is nothing I can do about that until Summer.

Speaking of cats - my ex used to sell "cat connected stuff" and made a fair few bob out of it - There's loads of people mad keen on cats ! ;)

Not my thing tho' so I'm happy to pass on the hint ! :A

Sadly, I haven't any cat-connected stuff to sell, not that I actually own anyway. My days of buying things cheaply at car boots etc with the intention of selling on are long-gone. Being broke curbs a lot of enjoyable activities:(

I did have various types of brand new cat beds that I sold on eBay. They were all bought at various times for the current and a previous cat, neither of which would even set a paw on them after an initial sniff and perfunctory investigation. They looked really comfortable too. I left them down for ages so they'd get used to them but no! Both cats prefer to sleep on the sofa, armchair or our bed:(

Didn't you once say you do BINs? I always do 7 day auctions ending late Sunday evening if possible but it was hard work last time getting everything parcelled up and posted on the Monday:eek:. I keep saying next time I have loads to list that I'll either stagger the auctions or do BIN so I can get them dispatched a few at a time;)

Good Luck with yours, that's an awesome amount of listings:T

  • I've just read that today is Blue Monday, officially the most depressing day of the year:eek:

    Stay positive, everyone. Keep smiling:beer:

Yup, always BIN with Best Offer. Partly so I get the price (or near enough) that I want for it rather than leaving to chance, and partly because BIN auctions can be 30-days long and saves the need to use up free listings on endless re-lists!

Sold £1.50 this morning and had a Best Offer on a £20 item... for £19.99 :rotfl: what was even the point of that
