Irene,
As this is such a very old (but interesting) thread you'd have more people reading it if you posted it as a new post.
I hope you get some helpful responses.0 -

The management company want £200 for LPE1 and LPE2 and the freeholder wants £288 for something "derived from" LPE1.
Are all sellers asked to buy these forms? The seller's form (TA7) doesn't even mention them. How much have you paid for them?
These are just the information packs. I gather there may be more charges later.
Thanks,

My partner's late father's house sale has been completed and the buyer has moved into the house. Our solicitor is with holding the proceeds from the sale, because the buyer says there was some rubbish left in the garden. Is the solicitor legally entitled to do this? Thank you in anticipation for a reply0

Solicitors are experts in the law, so they don't normally do things they're not legally entitled to do.
Yours is probably waiting to see whether the buyer's claim has validity and the scale of any breach of contract that may be proven before final release of funds. You will have assured the buyer of vacant possession, which includes leaving nothing behind, unless agreed in advance.
"Some rubbish" is a vague description. If it's enough to warrant hiring a skip, removal could cost hundreds of £.
This question would be better posted as a seperate thread, Few will see it here.0
