Hello all.
I'm so sorry I haven't been on here since Tuesday, but I've been really ill! I don't think I have been like that for years! I was in bed for 3 days and today was my first venture out!:(
Needless to say, I haven't spent so at least one good thing has come from it.:)
I didn't feel much like eating and slept a lot,but when I did eat, my stash of frozen soup was a Godsend! I make a weekly batch of a mixture of flavours so it was nice to have a choice. I will have to replenish my stash this week though.:D
My sister has still been bringing me goodies and her offering' s this week has been:
I whole spitroast chicken- £5.95
Rack of ribs= £4
Small granary loaf=75p
Park of cured ham400g=£1.79
6 free range eggs=£1.25. Total=£13.74:j
She also gave me salad and meds but I won't bother totting them up as was half bottle of cough mixture and mixed homemade salad.
I need to catch up on your posts who h will take some time!;)Living a frugal retirement without treading on the planet :T

Hi folks, went to lidls yesterday minor spend £5, milk, fruit juice, eggs, pasta etc.
Feel better today, cooked roast dinner and had pancake day!! For DD who will miss next two of them. Feel better about her going now as she managed to sell her car so at least got more money behind her. Last day see her tomorrow for a bit.
Starting to realise I need to get to grips with house repairs. Roofer came yesterday but I have the feeling the leak may not be the roof, as wall seems more wet this am. Give it a few days then pull the bath area to pieces again
Got my Dd to help pull down hanging fence today horrid so overlooked now. Need to go and see people at back of me, difference in levels be so maybe easier to get it fixed from their side.
Going to start getting quotes for re-mortaring and 2 windows which the sealed units have blown. I thought I was having a holiday this year.
I will put my name up for April if there are no takers. I can't do Feb, manic week this week in work and I am so far behind with my work at the moment.
Funbrum glad yr better.

I am back changing my totals as paid off 68% of the debt.
Looking at other people's signatures, I wish I had the will power to save and then pay off debt before due date the offer runs out. Can't say I profess to understanding everyone's signature.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
Calling - the thing is as I see it with interest rates on the floor, there is not much difference between just paying your debts down as you are doing and I for that matter, or doing lump sum repayments. I've had £1000 saved in my emergency fund ISA since last year and I will get £12 in interest. It doesn't bother me as it's not there to earn interest but to be at my finger tips in case of emergency. So there are 2 ways of looking at it. If you can find an account that will pay you enough to be bothered with saving cash at the moment then might be worth while. Even good old stocks aren't a guaranteed winner with the global markets out of wack.
So long as you clear your debt and then save it really is horses for courses." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

So yesterday was a spend day - popped to the jumble sale and managed to get the dog some cuddly toys.
Then as it was a spend day I got DD some new PE kit as she is using her old shorts (from primary and she is now Yr 8) and her brothers old PE top which now has holes under the arms and is getting too small.
Today has been a no spend day - I have been on the allotment clearing brambles and old fencing - managed to salvage loads of wire mesh which will come in handy when I start digging the beds and some will need protection..
Tomorrow will be a spend day as meeting my friend for a meal plus will get butter and more GF bread (DH is going to try a few weeks with no bread or pasta as he is always really bloated and ill after eating them).
In the future I would like to run one of the monthly challenge threads but as this is my 1st month I am still getting used to how it all works so I would like to see the challenges for a few months before I offer to run one.0 -
