NST - January. Bobs post bauble debt busting challenge

Ok so far I have managed one extra helping hand for an acquaintance. In a nutshell the lady is going back to work in Feb from mat leave with child 2. She has been on the waiting list for months for her elder son's nursery. Anyway she just found out that they can't take her new one. She was pretty down today. So I gave her the number of a local nanny I know who is well connected and if anyone has spaces she'll know. To be honest I feel I would have done that anyway but it counts to my 3 a day" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

NSD 11
I found £4, and received 3 free range eggs and half a punnet of mushrooms today!:j
After spending today at my friends clearing, cleaning and cooking. I'm going home for a quiet evening. I'm trying to finish reading a book by Dan Brown, Inferno, so I'm hoping to complete it this evening, so no tv for me.:D
Tomorrow I'm travelling to London with my sister to take her daughter and grandchildren back home. We can't stay so will be coming back to Birmingham straight away. I thought it would be nice to keep my sister company. She travels there every week for 2 days to help with childcare, then works 3 days/evenings and is always helping others. I'm lucky to have such a lovely sister.:ALiving a frugal retirement without treading on the planet :T

Congratulations to Mothernerd, that must be quite a weight off your shoulders...
Am up to 3 NSD's and 3 lunches to work. Yesterday, though, I had to go and buy more food because I simply hadn't taken enough with me... I was ravenous. Physically cold, full of cold... need to plan better for days like that. So working on warming, comforting foods today. Some mashed root veg from Christmas, might even break out the roast potatoes and gravy
And very thankful I was alive at the same time as David Bowie.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Hello,
just popping in for a quick Hello and wishing you good luck for this month. This month is just disappearing and finances are all over the place but in control. Just a bit of shuffling going on etc till things settle down soon. So I will just cheer from the sidelines this month and will hopefully be back next month.

Oh dear....I dont seem to have got the NSD thing into my head yet as I've only had three NSDs so far this month! DH has been home but is going back to work next week and that will help a lot! I've also got the small person (17 month old) to entertain and that's not helping. January also seems to be my month for booking thing, just booked the holiday (cheap and cheerful kids break) so its all spend spend spend at the min - grrrrrr! Its not huge amounts every day (£2 stay and play, 50p toy at the charity shop etc) so I suppose thats something! On the plus side I've earnt £3 doing some surveys and a few quid selling craft stuff online! :TNovember 2017 NSD 2/80

Good afternoon...
So, today was the master bedroom (don't know why I call it that as we only have two bedrooms). It is now very very very much cleaned up.
Going at the rate of one room a week (it was the kitchen last week) and if we call the office area and the lobby a room then we should be completed within two months.
Completed so far: the kitchen and the master bedroom.
Still left are: living-dining room, lobby, bathroom, guest bedroom and the office area.
Went to the bank today and have taken out my £200. £50 going to the emergency fund and £150 being saved for New York.
My Dad will be looking after the New York money. We have discussed it and Dad suggested using my savings account... but I can access that (providing I go to the bank) so wasn't so keen. My Dad is amazing at keeping hold of my money and not giving it up when I ask.
I don't mean he wouldn't ever give it to me, he wouldn't see me struggle but he won't hand it to me to go clothes shopping or something like that.
I have very little self-control.
Not really much else going on at the moment. Away to work in a wee while. Not much of a break but have the weekend off after this run of shifts. Can't complain really.
Hugs to you all.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

Hi All
NSD 7 bagged. Plus found a fiver on the high street! How no one else saw that I don't know.
Managed to get to my 2nd act of good deed Ness by telling someone how to find a place I knew that I heard them asking about.
TOG - like your way of thinking about how positive and negative people are both needed. Very interesting.
HelenRachel- but are you over budget? If not then don't worry. NSDS just don't work for everyone. But if as you say it's low spends that aren't blowing the bank then don't beat yourself up too much. January is hard.
I've managed loads of walking today which makes me happy. Still miss my bike
Calling - you are right about the lonely ones. I think this time of year must make it even harder.
Night all

It's horrible to be hungry isn't it when you feel unwell especially. Hot soup for you and plenty of warm blankets!" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
