Afternoon all, didn't get to post last night as fell asleep with DS whilst putting him to bed. Yesterday was a good but busy day and claimed my 3/21 NSD, today will be one too hopefully only spends last few days have been a grocery online order so all good here.

Chipping away at my CC target and fighting the urge to reduce hours in work on a regular basis, but can't have both I suppose. I am hoping to shake these thoughts until at least March when most of my Debts can be cleared apart from standing orders that will continue to run until clear. January blues maybe?

I wish I'd have know about this before the weekend as we went out to F&B's on Sunday for my son and mum's birthdays :(

I think I need to do more research into vouchers etc before heading out in future
I only just remembered on Sunday, I didn't know they did it until my bother mentioned it when we went there for my birthday a few years back. They don't seem to advertise it.

    2nd one today actually :D

House is now sparkling, so I can relax. Bf should be home soon, we're off out for a run while it's dry then having a cosy night in.

    Oops! Sorry :) x _ Raphael

Justforme yes Jan blues probably and also the debt battle is a marathon not a sprint. I get the same feeling on a regular basis. Get all fired up at the thought of clearing it then realise there are still months ahead and feel down. But I try and focus on the small things I am doing each day to get there and stay there. It's good to plan ahead I think but focusing on the day we are on is important too.

Today I am grateful for dd having a good day at school, for some sunshine, for dh not being home late, for lovely neighbour washing my mucky fleece window blankets for me as our machine can't do it, for an epic workout.

  • Hello everyone,
    Just checking in :)
Not had a chance to read your posts yet as been quite busy today but will catch up with them :) and I hope you're all doing well.

Bagged my first NSD yesterday, come home from work last night to find hubby cooking dinner. Normally he isn't the best after a couple of failed attempted (gammon welington which went wrong and he cooked chips in ketchup ) He made some lovely chips, I actually thought they were chippy chips when I first saw them!! I'm working the later shift tonight too I wonder if he will do the same again ;)

Aiming for another NSD today :) to make it two in a row :D

That's about it for today :)

TOG - Sounds like the new job is going to keep you fit, add pounds to your purse & knock them from your bottom line if you get me :)

Thanks bob that's what I'm hoping for. It turns out my steps count yesterday was wrong, we made over 12,000 steps, as the pain on my legs can attest. Fair bit of walking done today, although less than yesterday's (clocked in 9649 steps). I had to do more admin work in the office. I'm still in love with my new job. So much to learn but it is a definite welcomed change.

Saved myself £5 today at the car park. I was told by my boss to park at the public car park at the rate of £5/24 hrs, while waiting for my staff parking permit to be released. When I popped in to the facilities dept this afternoon to pick up my permit, they have already closed for the day. Before I paid for my parking ticket, I rang the help desk and explained that I am a new starter awaiting staff permit. They let me through the barrier without paying. Result! As they say, shy bairns get nowt. Tomorrow I may have to do the same as the facilities department don't open till late. Hopefully I will be as lucky.

Unfortunately I've lost NSD again today. DS2 finished all the packed lunch essentials and I had to sent hubby to aldee to buy some more. Tomorrow will be NSD by hook or by crook!

Not a NSD again sadly as I needed salads, to replace a broken and stained chopping board , and to put some money in DD2's birthday card :)

Aiming for another NSD tomorrow though - it is 'grandma day' - I look after my 2 year old grand daughter. A very good deterrent to shopping in any of its forms :rotfl:

    Hi folks...

    5/5 NSD for me....yay!:T

I was tempted to pop into the Co-op on the way to my friends house, not to buy anything in particular, but I just wanted to see if they had any bargains....I needed a fix! I did however resist as I didn't want spoil my clean slate!:A

I've put a colour on my hair that I bought a few months ago, so that saved a small fortune at the hair salon! I'm going to give myself a trim tomorrow. I'm lucky i have longish hair so not too difficult, and I've cut my hair for the past year saving me a mint:D

I'm still ploughing through the Christmas food and tonight's meal has been turkey dinner using left over veg and a fab gravy that I'd frozen. Also the last of the mince pies for dessert. I'm stuffed!:o

I walked to my friends house this morning....... 4miles. Looking for 'roadkill' I spied a brand new pair of black slip on plimpsoles, size 6 adult. They were just lying there on the footpath, so I scooped them up and will be put into the carboot sale.

I'm going to be checking on my credit report later...wish me luck.

Managed a NSD today, despite previously thinking I would need to pop to the shops so that's 1/21 for me :j

Have been trying to put together an online order since the weekend but the kids appear to have had other ideas about letting me have the time to meal plan etc so will probably have to pop out tomorrow to pick up something for tea unless I can salvage something from the freezer/cupboards. :(

No gold star for me Bob, mine were 4 days out of 4 I spent not NSDs :( I did manage my first NSD today though and should have another tomorrow as I am away with work and all meals covered and I don't pay for fuel.

Free lunch and dinner at the hotel tonight and free use of the gym and pool (not that I have used it yet ;))

Received a couple of quid of interest in the current account today so will send it over to the mortgage. :)
