Good morning. Oops actually afternoon!
Still feeling really poorly and tomorrow back to work. I really hope it starts to go. Been almost 2 weeks which is rediculous for a cough/cold. Still in pjs and been playing minecraft in bed with DS 😊
Having some soup for lunch but will cook later. Maybe curry or pasta. Have rice and pasta in and the ingredients for the sauce will be the same appart from the flavouring (curry powder or pesto). I have mushrooms, courgette, onion amd pepper to add.
We are having chocolate pud too later. My last treat before starting the diet tomorrow. Have managed first 2 days of no alcohol. 😊
I am checking in early to declare this SFD no 2. This is in part to keep me from internet shopping! Will need milk again today but hope DH will go. He went yesterday but only buys 1 and we get through it quickly especially if we all have cereal and sometimes twice! If he goes I don't have to count it from my grocery budget. We have separate money and while I do main shop, top up shops are done by whoever.
Right off to check my bank. Can't remember when my credit card bill comes out so need to check where I am. Have a good day.'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain'0 -
TOG - hope your hubby is feeling better
CCL - thank you for the adviceI live on the Norfolk/Cambridgeshire/Lincolnshire boarders. When I was younger and had counselling I had to self refer though MIND but at the time it was only for younger people not sure if it has changed now in the area. Thank you for the self help site too
I will be spending some time on that later after work.
Traveler - glad your daughter is better now, sounds like it was horrible whatever she had
Fmess - I didn't see the follow up, I did see the originals. What channel was it on? We don't have Sky anymore and got a feeling it was on a Sky channel.
Raphael - Happy birthday for tomorrow
PurpleJay - Hope you feel better soon!!
Thank you everyone for your kind words and supporthad a chat with hubby but didn't round to sorting out finances think it will be a one step at a time thing. Managed to get some sleep last night and feeling a bit better this morning. Had a nice bath at 9 which was relaxing, went to bed with a book then hubby came to bed and we watched a bit of a film and I actually drifted off to sleep!!
Think I am going to phone docs tomorrow and get an appointment.
Working again today and didn't bring any lunch in - really struggling with this. I have my breaks in my car in the car park so don't have a fridge to store anything as I don't really like going into the staff canteen and the fridge in there is pretty rank. Not a massive sandwich fan, any ideas on what I can take? ATM I am spending £3+ while at work
Not a NSD today as got to buy my lunch at work, will be aiming for one tomorrow though (need to get fuel at some point but that is budgeted for, might get that after work today if the petrol station isn't too busy)
Defrosted some gammon to have for dinner, not sure what to have with it, got some potatoes and carrots that need using so might do mash and carrots with it (mouth is watering at the moment!!)Read my diaryHere0 -
Afternoon all, a NSD here have checked exactly what's in the freezer and fridge and going to mealplan around it for a change instead of just refilling gaps. I will need fruit veg bread and milk tho.
Back to a little normality tomorrow boss is home from travels so pressures off me in the office and not a moment too soon.
Going to make some soup with leftovers for lunches in work this week, and just dragged some ham, bacon + butcher low fat sausages out of freezer so fine for tea and lunchboxes for all of us here.
Got one financial aim for January to clear this one last CC it has £1300 -the £30 that has just been paid off it, after a long hard look in work last night I could get this cleared with overtime and living off one wage, mentally it would make a huge difference to clear all or at least most of this card and it is January, all good intentions are high everywhere, so I am aiming high.
Has anyone a nice recipe for a beef hotpot? I have a pack of frozen dumplings in the freezer and they have been there all year so would love to use them this week.
Calling- your oomph is infectious x
Traveller- So glad your poorly daughter is on the mend, sounds really really sore.

As always, sign me up please Bob!
I'll try to post a bit more often this month and track my spends a bit more closely - want to stretch my usual savings but will be on holiday for the last 10 days of the month so we shall see. Will post my goals when I get home later, or tomorrow.
Been away at various family since Christmas Eve - driving home soon to my own bed and I can't wait (think my mum took that the wrong way)! Might put something in the slow cooker and take the decorations down - lots of work-related resolutions starting tomorrow so need to be prepared before bedtime. No leftovers as I haven't been in and the freezer is pretty bare.
I know about flylady, but does anyone know of a thread/website etc for deep cleaning your kitchen and the correct order to do it all in? I want to attack it some time soon!
Big hugs to everyone xxNST September: SFD 17/20, food £62.87/£60, travel £61.55/£40, Outings £39.80/£100, Allotment £7.17/£30 Other: £42.32, Meditation ?/30.

Today I am grateful for my waterproof, for lovely friends, for plasters, for candles, for dh's eye feeling better for the first time since Thurs.
The NSDs are progressing well and plans for dd's party are coming together nicely - and far more cheaply than the cost of Elsa last year!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -

Today HAS BEEN A NSD :j:j:j:j I managed.
In fact, I've made a bit of a profit today after tutoring, surveys and debt collecting. Just need to hope that dh's SO goes into my account tomorrow and everything will be ok.:eek:crazy_cat_lady wrote: »... and it's very rare that I don't get a freebie of some sort when I visit..Crazy cat- Thanks for keeping me company in work last night I fell into your diary, you are a whirlwind and a medal of solid gold is not enough for your survival skills x) so you tend to get the warts-and-all version of me.:o
