Evening turtles - a NSD to report yesterday, got a few groceries today as we needed milk so got a few bits for the week. Only spent £5.49 and we've made up a meal plan for the week based on what's in the flat so hopefully won't need to buy anything else.

Hi ya....NSD for me. I 've been taking down the deco's today and organising the cupboard that they go into.:)
My lovely sister has supplied me with food today, spitroast chicken and salad, and there's more salad left over.:p
Does anyone know if I can make soup with salad ingredients?
There's- grated carrots, onions, peppers, sweet corn, tomatoes, lettuce and a mixed rice with olives in.

I just made an amazing soup/stew with carrots, spring onions, 3 mini peppers, tomatoes and a handful of leftover lamb from new year 2 value stock cubes and I have enough for lunches for the week so can't see a few extras spoiling it x

If they are undressed then I'd go for it. Lettuce you may want to skip but the other veg sounds very useful. I make frittata with all the leftover salad I end up with. So easy. Just chuck it into a jug with 6 beaten eggs then chop potatoes and place them into a pan to fry. Then pour the eggs and salad all over the potatoes to cook the base through. Transfer to the oven for 30 mins to get all nice and risen. It's delicious hot or cold.

    Well done MissTara and CCL.

All this talk of food has made me grateful that I am about to sit down to sausage and mash :)

Oh dear another small spend day today so still waiting for my first NSD of 2016.

Plan for tomorrow is to inventory the fridge, freezer and stores (Xmas goodies already listed with BBF Dates) and then meal plan.

Nothing much else to report but need to work harder on NSD's

    Chez x
That money talks I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"
  • Firstly I need to apologise as yesterday I did not declare a spend I had - I wanted to also explain why I would not counting these spends as spends.
I have quite a few animals including geese and a local baker rings occasionally and offers us the left over bread which the geese love. I have no control over when he will call and we have to take it when we can get it. I have a separate animal feed pot so spends come from there.
So just to clarify spends that DH makes and spends on animal feed will also not be counted as a spend for me - hope this is ok?

Today was another NSD - we have been busy taking down the xmas decorations and I have been tidying the bedroom. I have hovered under the bed and also got rid of loads of towels and duvet sets to an animal rescue charity.

I have paid an extra £10 to my Halifax c/c - I found £10 on my desk an used that to pay for the bread we collected. Have just transferred the money out from the animal feed account and straight to the c/c - I don't want to include it on YNAB as I forget where it came from originally and its just tidier!!

Bring on tomorrow when all the DD's and SO's come out and I know whether I can pay more to the credit card tomorrow.

Hope everyone has had a good day.
