I send tracked - so apologies - I can't answer how the seller sees it is scanned if not sent tracked. But if your item is scanned at Argos you aren't held responsible for INR, despite a non collection.

My argos items show as 'ready for collection' when argos have them.

I've had my first argos return today, apparently item was not collected so ebay have paid for it to be returned to me and have told me to refund buyer in full but only when I have item back.

Ive not heard a peep out of the buyer at all, not a dickie bird.

I don't see anything like this at all anywhere.

How do you know this, first I knew anything about item not collected was when I received it back from Argos.

Ive not heard a peep out of the buyer at all, not a dickie bird.

Neither did I until the day after I received it back, by then it was 3 weeks since I had posted it out.

I can see the 'ready for collection'. statement in the order details.

As for the return I got 2 emails via ebay messages today. The first one said buyer had initiated a return due to non collection and item was being sent back tracked at ebay's cost and that as soon as it was returned I could check item and refund. The link they provided to the return was unhelpful, it clearly showed a return due to non collection and there is a tracking number . The second email was titled something like 'Soolin please confirm your address for the return' yet the email merely repeated the same information from the first email, stating item had been returned. I can see nothing at all to suggest buyer is involved, and the helpful links that ebay provide for me to check the status of the return just go round in a circle telling me item was not collected.

  • There is nothing in my order details that states order ready for collection, and I did not receive any e-mails from ebay or argos informing me that the parcel was not collected and would be returned to me. Nothing.

On reading the T&C re Argos, it states you have to offer "Free P&P" to qualify for Argos collect service. I did not offer free P&P on this item. ??? see below - so can anyone explain this??
What you need to offer Click & Collect
    • Offer free postage and delivery within 5 days
    • Meet certain size and weight requirements when posting
    • Listing must not be auction-style nor have a Best Offer option

  • Posted an item to Argos as requested. Does Argos let buyer know it is ready for collection. or just wait for buyer to pick up?

This is the 1st time I have had a request to sent c/o Argos for pick-up. However have just had parcel returned to me as buyer obviously not collected.

What do I do now, no correspondence from buyer at all asking where item is.
When I've bought an item on ebay and had it sent to argos I've always had an email from ebay to say when my parcel is ready to collect and there was a symbol in my purchase history to say the item is ready to collect, then when I have collected the parcel I get another symbol in my purchase history to say item picked up.

That is odd, might it be worth a call to ebay CS?

Thats what I thought. Hence my question about refunding in full or without postage. (post 7).

You can try refunding without postage, but as soon as buyer does an INR you will be forced to refund the lot.

Exactly the same as in the situation where buyer doesn't collect something from the delivery office and it gets returned.

Already fully refunded, but thats why I asked about postage as it was listed separate to the item price and not free P&P to qualify for click and collect.

However I contacted ebay via "live chat" explained, said they would get back to me.

Result - INR defect removed. :j

Although they did not comment on why it was click and collect in the first place since it had postage charges on listing,
