Sent item to Argos - do they contact Buyer ?

Posted an item to Argos as requested. Does Argos let buyer know it is ready for collection. or just wait for buyer to pick up?

This is the 1st time I have had a request to sent c/o Argos for pick-up. However have just had parcel returned to me as buyer obviously not collected.

What do I do now, no correspondence from buyer at all asking where item is.

  • Yes, Argos should text or email the buyer to let them know when it's ready to pick up.......

As Ting_tang says when ebay scan it as received they send an email to buyer with a collection code. Buyer needs that collection code in order to collect.

I assume it came back from Argos rather than the buyer?

    Yes, returned from Argos unopened.

  • Then it means the buyer didn't collect - it could also mean they didn't get the message from Argos.

You need to refund unless you want to contact the buyer to see if they still require the parcel.
  • Do I refund less the postage, or do I need to refund in full?

You will need to refund in full.

  • Ok, thanks, will do that now. Then will be going through my listings removing the Argos option as if buyer does not pick up - costs me money.

It will cost you money if the buyer is not at home to receive the parcel and does not collect it from the parcel depot.

Lose/Lose either way. You need to add this into your profit/loss or whether an item is really worth selling.

Why? The seller has done nothing wrong.

If thiis were true every buyer who changed their mind wouldn't collect. Selerlrs would find it too expensive and Ebay would collapse.

Ebay advises http://pages.ebay.co.uk/clickandcollect/ Your parcel will be held in-store for up to 7 days from when we notify you.
If you can’t collect your parcel within this time, it will be returned to the seller and you’ll receive a refund.

It does not specify any refund of postage.
