  • Kaz so sorry to read about pusscat. Hugs.

Can I have some finding vibes please, ds1s birthday money has disappeared. It was on the settee with his cards after he left for the pub so I know it didn't leave the house. When he went to work he asked me if I'd put it somewhere safe as he couldn't find it. One friend when home after we went bed, then he and remaining friend decided to order pizza, it was then they realised money was missing. I've been through recycling bags checked all envelopes etc moved every piece of furniture and checked through various piles of stuff - I even rang Dh incase he's moved it. So far it's not appeared. Not sure where else to look. £70 is a lot to lose.

Slightly changed what I was doing today as all I've done is move the lounge round.

  • Him and friend lifted the settees last night and I've rechecked this morning, I've moved everything I can think of and even checked games cases that aren't in the rack incase it got put in there. Ds2 can remember picking it up and fanning himself with it joking he was rich but insists it was put back. Dh thought it was on the table last night but didn't notice any sign of it this morning. The overnighter we've known for years but the other friend is a relatively new visitor to the house but surely no one would take a friends birthday money that would so obviously be missed quickly.
I would like to think it will still turn up.

Just had a hug from my lovely over the road neighbour who is a new gran as of about 2am this morning.

Better go and tidy the lounge and try and play catch up with the lists

Kaz so sorry your loss x

Ds2 started punching the car doors (inside) and then shouted in the barbers. Good news his hair has been cut.

Ds1 missed his bus but I left him to get the next one as didn't want to take ds2 out again see previous point.

2 loads of washing done. One box of after 8s opened early.

Dehumidifiers on trying to dry washing

Mrs M P hope money turns up. Has son checked his pockets?

Dusty, don't write the keys off completely, dd1 lost one of the phone handsets at work a couple of weeks ago, checked the cctv and she had put it on the curtesy car roof in the workshop which was then driven onto the forecourt with it still on only to be driven off my a customer why no one noticed she doesn't understand. The weirdest bit was a week later a guy came in and asks if they lost a phone. A jogger spotted it in the road down from their garage took it home and pressed last number redial, contacted guy and told him he'd found a house phone was there any chance he'd been burgled, they met up at a pub Nd he gave the phone to the guy who said its wasn't his but wonders why his number was in it. He rang another number in the call history and asked if it was his phone and how they could be connected as both their number were in the found phone. They then clicked they both recently had work done on their cars at a garage near where the phone was found. It got returned with a by then flat battery and a slight scratch on one corner. Dd can't believe that 3 random people would put themselves out to trace the phone back to its owner. They can't trace the jogger but drinks have been promised to the two customers. If I ever found keys I would put a card in the shop window nearest to where I found them and take them to the local police station or if they had an insurance keyring on I'd drop them in a postbox or whatever it tells you to do. I hope they turn up.

Re money, ds1 is at work, ds2 insists that every possible place and pocket was checked by ds1 last night but I can't ask him till he gets home. Ds2 has said its possible it could be with female friend as her handbag was near the settee the money was on so "it could have fallen off and landed in her bag without her realising" that does sound very convuleted even through my always seeing the best in people's eyes. Even if that had happened how on earth can you ask oh by the way did my stash of birthday money accidentally find its way into your bag when you left early without sounding like you are accusing them of stealing? It's for Ds to decide if he wants to ask friend who left before it was realised missing or wether friend who was here helping the search will ask them about it. Either way I think that if it doesn't materialise I will be be more careful about what is left laying about when 'friends' are around.
