Mumof2 - I woke DD up at 7.30 this morning after telling her she could have a lie in. My argument is she's normally up at 6am for school so 7.30 is a lie in ;)

DD still decorating the tree, we're currently sat in the dark so she can see where the dark patches are :rotfl: All computer stuff is now done and I'm moving on to the wrapping.

    I like your style Nicki!!

Got a beef casserole in the slow cooker for tonight and it does smell lovely - I want to make the most of my SC this winter as they're so easy to make lovely warm meals with aren't they.

Here's the rest of my list - also need to walk the dogs and start packing but looking very manageable.

    Monday Mayhem..
    • Vacuum through downstairs.. and the stairs!
    Wednesday ~almost done!!
    • Clean the bath
    • Vacuum the whole of the upstairs!
    • Do a crazy HHC decluttering downstairs

3 calls from 'Microsoft tech support'

he told me that my computer, for which he had the ID (or some such phrase) had been sending them messages. Asked him to tell me the ID. Then I told him it was wrong, it didn't match mine! He then poo-poohed the idea that I would even know the ID. (He got me there, I was bluffing...) I ended the call. He called again. And again. On the third call I asked him if he was aware it was and offence to harrass by continually telephoning and suggested he stopped calling.

My mother's response to this one is usually that she doesn't have a computer. Or if she's bored, confusion and alarm that someone has put a computer in her house ... can they help her find it... how can she rid of it.

Sadly some of her friends aren't so sensible and at least one has probably been scammed by someone calling her pretending to be from BT and getting her to log into all sorts of things (including her bank account) while she was on the phone to 'reset' things due to a 'network upgrade'. Luckily I've explained to my parents about keyloggers and spyware (although I suspect my dad still thinks he knows better than me despite my job meaning I do actually know what I'm talking about...) so they are fairly sensible and do try to explain the risks to their friends. Most of whom now accept that if I've told my parents something about security for their computers then they should pay attention. ANd I tend to err on the side of caution with them

All cleared up after last night. Beds made up for visitors. Vague menu plan worked out for today and tomorrow (when we're off to my brother's). Windows open to air the house after the fire was rather smoky last night (I need another 2ft on the chimney as it's level with my ridge and lower than the neighbour's ridge). WM and DW on (trying to keep it all under control by doing laundry little and often). I need to buy milk at some point so I can supply the required cups of tea. Thought about a visit to the supermarket and drop off at the CS but the weather is nice so I think I'll walk to the shop instead. And then maybe flatten the molehills... unless I save that for the kids to help with this afternoon...

Sometimes I deny having a computer:
sometimes I tell them it's a mac (I do have a mac, and a work i pad). I figure while I'm talking they aren't scamming someone else...

    ironing done

now, it appears I am needed to go into town with DS to help him buy his GF's pressie...*screams*

I'm going to wash the car first though. Because it's dry out and the car is filthy.

I'll join you jjef! I'm alternating between the LR and the kitchen. I'm catching up on NCIS New Orleans which I've been recording - I'm now on the last one - so I'm working in the LR when it's on and the kitchen while the adverts are on! So far it's working.

Just managed to tick my first 'to do' from Monday. Yes, Monday.

    Presents all wrapped!
Sausages and bacon bought this morning on the way in - Farm shop on the way home followed by Mr T's and I'll have ticked two.

At this rate I'll be on Wednesday about mid-March.
