    IRRs, Year to date:
    Growth portfolio:16.9%
Income portfolio 6.8% including both capital growth and dividends
    WealthPreservation:3.1%

    60/40 Growth/Wealth Preservation: 11.4%

    - Growth should well outperform VLS100 yet again this year and also outperform FTSE World Index.. About 30% of capital transferred out of Growth into Income and WP during 2017. Some rebalancing of Growth during the year and reduction in number of funds
    - Income portfolio: Apart from the money moved from Growth, little change to overall capital values with some gains partially balanced by major falls in Interserve and Carillion. Useful dividend of about 5.5% taken.
    - WP created at start of year and is showing gains about in line with inflation

Overall the returns continue to exceed The Plan so all is looking good for the future.

SIPP currently up 21.3% YTD. Having a single share rise 57% has been a major boom to the portfolio.

Though the portfolio has slipping backwards from it's peak in recent weeks. Not uncomfortable with remaining fully invested as still see opportunities with long term potential.

What's most noticable in the (nearly) past last 2 years is that the underlying yield has dropped by over 20%. Despite reasonable increases from the pure equity holdings. The risk premium is certainly diminishing.
  • I didn't realise my original thread was still running but interesting how things can change 2 years on. From very little gain in 2015 2016 and 2017 have been brilliant. Almost 10% this year and 15% in 2016. My income funds have been producing around 4-5% as well.
