EBay account restricted

For the first time in 14 years, my EBay account has been restricted. I am not allowed to list anything for three days
The reason ? I listed a boxed cake knife (removed under the weapons restrictions) and today I listed an antique truncheon and apparently that isn't allowed under the same rule
On checking, identical items to both have sold in the past with no problems. Spoke to EBay CS and the restriction stands !
Think it's time to look for alternative selling sites.

I think ebay employees are bored today as I've received a VERO notification on 2 of my items. I am not convinced they are right, but am not going to argue and have pulled everything in the same line just in case.
My last slap on the wrist was for fruit knives, tiny little vintage ones in a box yet they didn't appear to be restricted either . I do think they make a lot of this up.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The worrying thing is that the end of the restriction says that if I do it again my account could be suspended ! I am going to have to be really careful now. Any idea how long this black mark sits on the account, or am I always going to be in danger of losing my account ?You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

I don't know, there isn't even anywhere to check.
It's like my VERO warning, how many can I have before I get banned? If odd things are in the VERO programme how can I be sure that I've nothing else listed?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. VERO used to drop off after 6 months for the first warning when they were shown on the dashboard. Now, who knows?0

It is likely the OP has been reported by someone specifically watching their account.0

I hope that's not the case. I have feedback of 7500 no negatives or neutrals, so don't think I have upset anyone
Just to make things worse, I now can't find something that sold last nightYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

It may not be a customer, but if someone saw the knife, they may have been waiting or trawling for any other breaches.
IME they are usually ex customers or have been reported themselves and make a mission out of removing everyone else's breaches.
Just be wary of what you list from now on. Back in the days of the policy strike dashboard, the first breach would last 90 days, the second a year…...:o0 -

I think it was the way they were listed, I did say they were compatibles and the pictures were very clear, I think it's because I may not have included the actual brand (such as "JetTec") in the listing title, I think I just said "compatible with Epson...."
Can't believe a company like Epson would pay employees to trawl round eBay looking for listings from individuals who are just selling their unused cartridges, after their printers become unusable due to clogged up printheads if not used all the time.  :mad:Big corporations take advantage of the unwary, it's time we learned how to deal with them:dance::dance::dance:Any comments are based on personal experience and interest in consumer matters, they do not constitute advice.0
