    hi

on a side note, has anyeone ever bought something from the usa and had a NON-STG TRANS FEE 2.75% charged to there card?

is there a way round these?
since i ve bought tickets from a usa site i ve got charged.
Its just im looking to maybe buy some things off a site recommened here( travel zoo) and now i worry i ll get charged for buying it.

Er, that's because you are buying something that is not priced in ££££'s
and your credit card\debit card stiffs you for the extra to convert from whatever currency to ££'s

Read the threads about cheapest way to spend abroad

    and pick accordingly.

    I have
N&P debit card-for the occasional cash from ATM's
TravelexSupercard-Soon to be withdrawn-But coming back in "summer" Perfect-when it works !
Santander credit card (no longer available to new users).
Halifax Clarity-Never used it because of the above.

Apologies first, it's a washing post, please skip post if offended ;)

I've just read a TR on vegasmessage board and apparently Cosmo no longer have washer/dryer facilities in the room!

I have my last night at Cosmo and was 'looking forward' to getting my washing done before I come home.

If anybody can confirm this (Ferf are you there now?) would be useful to know, thanks.

We are here now but not in the level of room that used to have laundry facilities. I did hear awhile back that they were either removing them as they needed repairs or full stop. I will ask to see if I can get a definitive answer.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I'm heading to Vegas for the first time in 6 weeks. I'm going to swop some of my MyVegas points for buffet vouchers. Where would be the best choice? Ideally within easy walking distance of our hotel, The Venetian.

    Thank you

The Mirage buffet will be the nearest to you,if staying at The Venetian.
Just over the road.If you are redeeming points, you do know you can only have one of each reward. If you are planning on exchanging for a couple of buffets,at different hotels,I would recommend The Bellagio buffet...not too far away, and our favourite buffet. Its still only about a 15 minute walk from Venetian.

You'll notice that some of the rewards (including most of the completely free buffet ones) have a little key symbol on their picture, this means they require you to be staying at an MLife hotel. As Venetian isn't part of the group you won't be able to use these ones. I'm petty sure the terms of the reward make this clear but wanted to say just in case!

Thanks Ferf but please don't waste precious gambling time trying to find out about washing!;)

Hope you're having a great time and the slot gods are being kind to you!

bubble113, I read that same TR.

She wrote this on 16th March.

"Washer and dryer update - I called down and they said they no longer have washer and dryers in the rooms ( i suspect they are behind the locked door though), but they offer laundry service. Well ...duh."

Not sure if you saw that part.

Thanks Pebbles, boo was hoping to do my washing on my last 1 night stay at Cosmo. Not the end of the world but I find it depressing emptying the case at home and then having to wash it all!!

Me too but now I keep it to a minimum by heading to Wizard of Suds mid trip. We pack half the clothes we used to and wash mid-way through...so also have half the washing to do when we get home. It isn't exciting but I go early in the morning and takes about 90 minutes all in door-to-door and we have extra space in the cases for shopping.

That one time at Cosmo was brilliant, though. Only our travelling clothes to wash when we got home.

Thanks for the info about wizard of suds, we are doing a 2 base trip so i want all clothes washed/dry cleaned before we leave vegas so we dont lug loads of dirty washing on the cruise. Is it much cheaper than getting the hotel to do it?
