Thanks for your help. I booked a flight to Dublin for the day before at lunchtime and we'll cross the other bridge when we come to it!0

Are there any tricks to getting hotel rooms cheaper in Vegas? Any sites with discount codes etc? I've 'liked' certain hotels on Facebook to make sure I don't miss out on any promotions etc. Any other tips to saving a few quid?
Ordinarily you might be directed to the first page of this thread but it's not quite updated yet. Therefore please see this page, which is the first page of the 2015 thread. Plenty of info there for you.

Well....
Booked Vegas
Booked Derek
... Roll on Aug / Sept I guess0 -
That dollar better sort itself out, I want at least minimum $1.50 to the pound before May 20th !0 -
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Any info on this one would be appreciated..... More importantly, will I make McDonalds Breakfast ?!!!
Original Flight detail was:
Dublin 7am - Arrive South Terminal Gatwick 8:25am
Fly Virgin at 11:20 to Vegas....
I had an email come through to say the Virgin flight had changed to 10:10am.. Coolio, still around 1hr 40 mins in the airport. Unsure of how the connecting flight works here, and whether my bags will be checked from Dublin to Vegas, or whether I need to collect first ?
Anyway, am logged into the BA/Aer Lingus website for that Dublin flight, and it would appear they have also changed there flight from Dublin, that now leaves at 07:40am !! Arriving at 09:10
That's 1hr before the Virgin flight (both in South Terminal)
Sooooooooooooooooooo....
A: Anyone done a flight with a 1hr gap between connecting flights in Gatwick/Heathrow ??
B: With that 1hr window, will we make McDonalds Breakfast ?!
**update**
Just checked Virgins website, the 10:10am flight has now changed to 10:30am!!! So I guess 1hr 20 is fine!0 -
We have seen a really great price with Virgin for a Fly Drive - but we don't actually want a car.
Has anyone done this before? Will we get charged for not collecting the car?0 -
No. And you will save on their exhorbitant insurance as well. Its cheaper usually to not collect their car and pay their insurance, but to book your own car thru CH3000 or similar.illegitimi non carborundum0

Thanks
We're not sure we want a car yet, its possible we'll do an overnight trip to DV GC or LA but we'll decide closer to the time.
I just didn't want the return flight cancelling if we opted not to take the car.
The Virgin package is decent prices too, but we fancy trying two hotels during the trip as well so wanted to book the hotel independently as well.
Thanks0 -

Assuming this is on one ticket your bags will be all the way through to Vegas once you droop them at Dublin.
Never done a LGW transfer before but there should be sufficent time to connect.
The good news is that if the incoming flight is delayed too much and you miss the Virgin to Vegas then "they" have to get you to Vegas on the next flights.
Bad news.
If the above happens they may try to fob you off with getting the NEXT DAY flight from LGW.
However you are within your rights to insist they put you on the next available flight even if this is NOT Virgin and not from LGW.
But I'm sure everything will be OK0 -
