Oh no :/ it always seems to be the way! Never a cheap part :(
Hopefully he'll find the right one for you :)

Actually sometimes it IS a cheap part. I had a V*uxhall, not brand new but just a couple of years old, very low mileage bought under the manufacturer checked scheme from a main dealer. It looked immaculate, but cut out randomly, on motorways, busy roundabouts, junctions :eek:

It went back under warranty at least 10 times, and there were snarky comments about women drivers etc

Several expensive parts ('sensors') were replaced, under warranty, it still randomly cut out :(

It got sent back to the manufacturer, and it turned out to be a faulty earth lead, which would have cost just a couple of quid. Once this was fixed it was fine, and I kept it for years.... perhaps surprisingly, I eventually traded it in for another V*axhall which I have now had for 5 years with no problems except for wear and tear issues. Make of that what you will!
  • Dawn thats good :) strange how something so small can make a big difference! :)

Speaking of cars - I was driving home from work, heard a pop as I come onto the dual carriageway and car making a strange noise. Turned off at the roundabout and pulled over. Thinking something hanging off or something simple? No car had a flat :/
Dad come to the rescue and car has a spare wheel under the car (stupid place to put it!!) and the screw holding the wheel in seized and he couldn't get it out :/
I had to drive home at 20-30mph on a main road, had a lorry beeping at me as I turned off (they're the ones normally holding the traffic up!!) finally got home. Dad's taken wheel off and need to get a new tyre tomorrow :(
Hubby is taking morning off work to help me, bless him.

  • Hi all

Am bemused, internet is working tonight, but no phone?? How is our BT stuff so random and unreliable. We pay our bill honestly!

Anyway, had fish fingers from tea. Just could not face cooking - again. Ate up some stale bread to make sandwich.

Finished knitting DD jumper. Only really fit for playing out. Definitely not a work of art, something about chunky wool and me do not agree artistically. Love aran and it seems to suit my style. Chunky looks like an 8 year old has had first go at clothing project. I have lots of chunky wool to use up, so hey ho, lets get the stash used up.

I also have an amazing 10 very large balls of aran wool courtesy of my sister who found it in a charity shop. Think I may be busy a long time.

Ewe lambs not fed today. Feel a rural failure.

  • Well I'm a bit embarrassed to admit but I've had a complete meltdown this evening. In a nutshell it's been a combination of being tired, busy, frustration with dh and constant nagging from the kids. I've had a bit of time out and am starting to calm down a bit but I am feeling the strain. Trying to focus on the 2 days left and impending Christmas, rather than the stuff that's getting me down. :D

[STRIKE]:rudolf: do not stress, either at work or on the trip[/STRIKE] Did this, but failed miserably not to get stressed once I got home.
    [STRIKE]:rudolf: 15 mins housework and declutter[/STRIKE]

Need to get on with my knitting and watching the Apprentice. I have big plans for Christmas decorations etc. once I've done the stocking for ds.
  • Hello all,

I've been AWOL this month and also gone a bit off the rails spending wise. I had a flat tyre that cost me £50, plus food and Christmas spends have also run away with me. I've also lost £70 on non-refundable train tickets that I can't use as my family have been affected by the floods so I can't go to see them this weekend!

On a more positive note my partner has come home from hospital after having an operation. I was there for 12 hours yesterday and spent £15 in Costa though! Glad he is home and on the mend :A We were meant to be going to see the new Star Wars film at 3am tomorrow morning () but as we'd booked it before we knew the date for the operation it's not possible to go. I did get a refund though :T Hopefully we'll be able to go between Christmas and New Year

Today has been a NSD and we have plenty of food to last until pay day next week so all meals from stores until then

    FPL and banking checked

Hoovering and washing done, bathroom cleaned

    Back at work tomorrow...

  • Its not fair!! Works lunch out with splitting costs. I didn't get a pud to save money. Then big boss paid the bill. Its not fair.

I had to go to a meeting with my boss last week. After the meeting he suggested grabbing a coffee and some lunch in a very expensive looking coffee shop. I tried to discreetly choose the least costly thing on the menu then of course when it came to paying he said he would treat me!

Plodding along here, work is manic, I am tired and my throat is sore.
Need to update my finance spreadsheets tomorrow but I think I am on track.

Hope all is well with your OH Pp and CCL sometimes you just have to let it all out. Hope you are OK.

Hugs to anyone feeling the pre-Christmas stresses and strains. Bedtime for me.
