Wed 16th December - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important!:money:

    Morning all :)
Thanks for the start Ally :)
Hope the trip goes ok CCL :)
    Ziggy, what is snowmen soup?

Just popping in quickly as it is Grandma day today and I don't expect to get much done (not sure how DNMS does it :o)

    * Decorate Christmas tree with baby GD - a two year old, a puppy and a pile of Christmas decorations - recipe for disaster or what? :rotfl:Done, surprisingly successful, puppy notwithstanding :D
    * No heating on as it really isn't cold. Wet and horrible yes, but not cold. Wood burner will be lit this evening though :)Done
    * HM meals from stores, using up bits in the fridge to make a sausage casserole thing for tonight :)Nearly done :D
    * Hopefully a NSD :)
    * Have another look at Christmas / monthly big grocery shop list. I have a delivery booked for Saturday which I can edit. Might plan a trip to Lidl and Mr S before I finalise this, to see if I can get anything cheaper :)Not done yet
    * Put cashback credit card away, to avoid using it again. No worries about paying the balance, but they have hiked the fee, and the cashback will no longer be worth it (less than the fee, as I don't spend enough, obviously :rotfl:). I will close this after Christmas when the balance is paid. I must remember to unlink it from any online accounts (don't have many of these so this won't take long!) Done
    * Ring old dentist to cancel appointments - might not get chance to do this today, but if it is on the list it won't get forgotten Not done
    * Text friend re brand of mattress she liked, must remember to do this! Not yet
Oops they are here, must dash!

    Morning Wednesday Savers,
Today's list. Um......well, it's a nil return from me today. Will be buying last few gifts, eating out & going out tonight. Oh.....I do have some leftovers for lunchtime, but that really is it for today's (non) efforts.

2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

    Morning all

I finished sewing in the ends of doom on blanky! He is now washed (survived the machine well) and laying on the spare bed to block. I hope he dries today :)

Interesting that blanky has become a "he"...

    MSE list from me today:
    • B/L/D from stores
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Check online banking and reconcile spreadsheet - done
    • Set up standing order to new account - done
    • Run at lunch time - much easier than I expected. Mostly because I thought that the intervals were longer. Must read info properly :o
    • Finish blanky if he's dry. Just need to sew in the balloon strings, the rabbits' ears and their eyes
    • Bread possibly? hahaha
    • Christmas cards (still part of the naughty list, but I did finish wrapping all of the presents :o )
    • Decluttered: two pewter dragons that I've had since I was a teenager - done
    • Make the choccy fudge in case it goes wrong. Then I still have time to find a plan B!
Small list but feeling a bit tired.

    Have a good one all
