I think it was a prediction based on post #78:)

Ah - a tongue in cheek comment that went over my head there. :o

Note to self: stop being so literal and/or serious. ;)

As a parent of 2 kids under 6, and me being 38 weeks pregnant now, we try and park in the quiet far corner of the supermarket car park and straddle 2 spaces down the middle

Shouldn't you be in one of parent and child spaces?!

In theory yes, however I can not remember the last time one was available, and when watching the users of the parent and child spaces I'd estimate around 50% did not have a child with them. My morrisons where I normally shop has 6 parent child spaces.

Interestingly our local Tesco the parent and child spaces are away from the store a bit.... Down the side of the building, the far side from the entrance to the store although they are clearly located where they are as there is no need to cross roads as it pavemented from the parent spaces right to the door. These slightly proof the theory they wouldn't be used so much if they weren't so close to the door.... Never have I seen more than 2 or 3 of the 10 parent and child spaces taken.
  • i always use parent & child spaces when i go to shopping as my range rover does not fit in normal spaces and im fed up with paying for dinks to be removed.

Maybe park where it's quieter, go when it's quieter, or get a smaller car? Just because you have a big car doesn't mean you're entitled to use P&C spaces.

I'd love for P&C space 'violations' to be enforceable. P&C spaces are a godsend for parents and can be a real pain (and lead to dinks) if not available. I'd happily have them located at the back of the car park as long as there was a safe set of zebra crossings to get to the store.

Perhaps you should choose a car that actually fits the use you give it...?

There are plenty of narrower vehicles that have 3.5t towing limits.

    this does not surprise me.

and you're also allowed (no sorry, must) park on double yellow lines and zig zag marks outside schools as well.
