I dont choose my car based around the size of supermarket car park spaces.

Then don't moan about it not fitting in supermarket car park spaces.
most supermarkets are fulll of empty p&c spaces, they are there for the taking as far as im concerned.

    Now there's a surprise.

    Now there's a surprise.

Helps himself to things that are provided to help others, probably uses the wheelchair trolleys as he cant be bothered to walk.

I hear there's a baby with some candy nearby that you can help yourself to.

And there, in a nutshell, is the self entitled selfish culture we have nowadays. As long as he's alright then sod everyone else. Probably pushes old ladies out of the way at the tills.

If there weren't any P&C spaces, would you park in a disabled space, or just use two normal spaces?
  • I have a disabled partner and a 21month old - we get hit with twice the abuse for using either set of bays! Usually because I get out first and apparently disabled people can't drive - fancy that; I know dozens who do every day! Or much older people, who I'm sorry to say have the Blue Badge it would seem for age as many are more fit and just as able as me, berate me for the youth of myself and my partner. Him being a full time wheelchair user obviously doesn't affect his ability to use the much smaller bays where he actually can't get out of the car!

Ultimately blue badge holders can park in any bay and choose whether or not to display the badge if it *isn't* a designated blue badge bay.

I also tend to avoid P&C bays when alone with our daughter as firstly, I don't mind walking that bit further unless the rain is torrential, and secondly, as I only have a Ka so it's small and fits in most bays others avoid. I tend to try and park on the end of a row if I can and try to keep the drivers side free as I get little one in and out via my door this way I have plenty of space and can manage well enough.

I have seen many P&C bays with ages noted on them though - I've seen some that are children 3 and younger and some that are up to 7/8.

never witnessed a shortage of P&C spaces, but depends on how many spaces there are. we all know the blue badge system is totally abused.

Yes definitely. With a huge 'entitled to' attitude.

That is why I take great pleasure in parking in child spaces, just to irk them a bit. Especially after the way some fat thug treated a disabled lady I know; screaming at her and calling her a C word because she parked in a child zone because she couldn't find a disabled zone.

These special snowflakes need to get over themselves!

if this is your idea of fun you need a hobby.

and no, touching yourself whilst thinking how great you are annoying others whilst parking in a P&C bay is not a hobby.

It's a parking space in a car park? hardly 'helping myself to things'

if the baby is eating the 'candy' then perhaps a longer walk through the car park will help burn of the fat from the sugary treats, therefore im indirectly looking after the childs welfare

big assumption there! do you know me? do you know what i have done for my Country and local community? NO, you don't. Typical 'keyboard warrior' that doesn't agree with someone elses actions/ideas so results to assumptions/insults!

After years of being just a normal 'parker', I am now experiencing ~some~ of the frustrations disabled people must feel.

I have hybrid vehicle that can be electrically charged, there are special bays with chargers at most services and probably to reduce cost of heavy cables they are often right outside the services door, even nearer than the disabled spots.

So you can guess they attract all the usual lazy souls that are perfectly able but need to save 10 yards on the way to getting the next portion of KFC, or the sales reps who think their precious cars will be dinged unless in an 30 foot exclusion zone and so on.

Despite being heavily hatched, signed and warnings of £100 penalty for improper use they still do it, there are only 2 special spaces typically and I need it, the cable isn't long enough to reach a normal bay!!
