This!!!? The OP was not there.0 -

Quite correct but why stop there ?
Maybe I made the whole story up as some kind of commercial strategy to damage Boots' reputation ?
Maybe the part about my friends not being English could have been made up as I might be a racist and just like spreading negative stories about anyone who isn't English ?
Maybe I have a personal vendetta against all store detectives ?
Or maybe the truth is exactly how I presented it.
Now I am not going to waste any more time defending my post so the mods are more than welcome to close this topic down.[/QUOTE]
There are no mods on MSE BTW...the rest of your rant says much more about you than it does about anything I posted.0 -
I have given the security guard the benefit of the doubt. I made quite clear, as you have highlighted, when my comments were based on supposition, unlike you. That supposition was not contrary to anything that was reported.

I have condemned no one. The OP was not present at the time and therefore have no knowledge of what actually happened...if they were present that would be a different story.
If I posted on MSE that my mates sisters aunt told me naedanger was a pervert (for example) would that be acceptable and not doubtable?0 -
I dont think foxtrotoscar is saying anyone has lied. Just that perception is a funny thing and while someone might tell you a story that is truthful, its not always exactly what happened. Its just their interpretation of what happened.

Bartlett's theory on reconstructive memory?
So based on the above, what is your view of the following post e.g. useful, helpful, informative etc?
Quoted in case it disappears.
Can Boots demand the evidence your friend has that proves staff are stealing goods to sell on ebay?0 -

It was clearly a spin from:Can my friend demand to know what evidence the security guard had in order to feel that she had stolen something and what steps should/could my friend take now ?
In an attempt to draw parallels between the accusations made by the OP's friend and the accusations made by the assistant.
However here's a plot twist - with the spirit of perception in mind. How about the store assistant perhaps misheard/didn't translate properly what OP's friend said and instead thought she was talking about stealing goods to sell on ebay herself rather than accusing the store assistant? Certainly fits in with her saying she was mistaken. I imagine someone exacting revenge wouldn't have been so ready to admit they were wrong and would have let things play out.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
The point is none of us were actually there at the time and that includes the OP surely?0

I'm not sure where you got that idea from. They have a "Forum Team" who perform all the duties of what other sites call "moderators" perform like deleting/editing posts and suspending/banning users.
They don't post much but this place certainly isn't unmoderated.0 -

I think you'll find MSE heavily makes the point that the forums are not moderated. Go read what they say about it please and come back when you are more informed0
