    Finally caught up.

    Fc so sorry to hear your news.

    Thanks Mrs Stinkface and tweets. I took Ted to the vets for 9.10 this morning as Darren was in work so he dropped him off at 7.45. Not sure of actual costs just yet, depends if he needs an operation but so far the total s about £750 :eek::eek::eek:

    Half my chicken run is flooded :eek: :eek:

    MG has got the car and the local pet shop where I normally buy all my hay and straw is closed until next week. I've had to temporarily sort it out with sawdust, which the girls then proceeded to dig through *sigh*

    He's off tomorrow so the first task is to go and get some stuff that'll do it properly. Nine months since we got them and this is the first time their run has flooded out :(

    :eek::eek::eek:oh no!
    Hope they are ok and it works just for now x

    Poor girls, how are they reacting to the water, must be a novel experience for them

    They look quite wretched where they've constantly had their heads in the water :eek: their feet were proper filthy but digging through the sawdust seems to have cleaned their feet lovely :D

    Actually talking of credit cards if you have an emergency one - many of do I think, ones that only get used once in a blue moon, put it on your calendar to at least once a year use it, even for something for a few pounds and then check with your bank that your direct debit to pay the full balance is valid and goes through successfully

    My youngest has a nationwide credit card which is very rarely uses as he earns very little. As soon as he got it he set up a direct debit to pay the full amount off each month. The odd times he used the card he often does not wait for the direct debit to go through, just transferred the amount from his current account.
    So in November he had a small amount on his credit card bill. When we got back from hols in December he had a letter and he also got an automated call to say he had been charged £12 for non payment and his credit card had been blocked :mad:
    He was out in Hong Kong and I have access to his account so I logged on and checked. I could see the full amount coming out of his current account by direct debit and then the payment was reversed and went back in again :( and then they charged him £12 as well
    So I transferred the amount back again and then I contacted them the payment had been reversed because his direct debit had not been used in 14 months so it was cancelled :eek:
    He had not had any notice of this anywhere by letter or on his online banking so as far as youngest son knew he had a dd set up and that was no problem.
    They did reinstate the old dd for him, refund the £12 and unblock the card but who knows that a direct debit not used for 14 months gets cancelled without your knowledge or permission
