Actually talking of credit cards if you have an emergency one - many of do I think, ones that only get used once in a blue moon, put it on your calendar to at least once a year use it, even for something for a few pounds and then check with your bank that your direct debit to pay the full balance is valid and goes through successfully

My youngest has a nationwide credit card which is very rarely uses as he earns very little. As soon as he got it he set up a direct debit to pay the full amount off each month. The odd times he used the card he often does not wait for the direct debit to go through, just transferred the amount from his current account.
So in November he had a small amount on his credit card bill. When we got back from hols in December he had a letter and he also got an automated call to say he had been charged £12 for non payment and his credit card had been blocked
He was out in Hong Kong and I have access to his account so I logged on and checked. I could see the full amount coming out of his current account by direct debit and then the payment was reversed and went back in again :( and then they charged him £12 as well
So I transferred the amount back again and then I contacted them the payment had been reversed because his direct debit had not been used in 14 months so it was cancelled
He had not had any notice of this anywhere by letter or on his online banking so as far as youngest son knew he had a dd set up and that was no problem.
They did reinstate the old dd for him, refund the £12 and unblock the card but who knows that a direct debit not used for 14 months gets cancelled without your knowledge or permission

Not good, but unless you work in a Bank/Building Society you wouldn't know this :(

I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it. :)

  • Half of my house has come down with illness.

Mr monkey is in bed with cold sweats, chills, sneezing and a runny nose so I've dosed him up with night nurse.
Little miss has some sort of sickness bug she was ill several times in the night:( deffinately not something she'd eaten as we'd all eaten the same!

I too collected my Mr shoes order ... Not glitchy just a few sale bits Liz Earle set and some botanical for my dad for his birthday but I did get the 500 promo points.
Some of my next sale items arrived today... Looking at the dates on my account it looks like the delivery person will be visiting me regularly for the next few weeks dropping off 1 item at a time... Rather annoying

We are watching Gangsta Granny for the 900th time!! Please save me.....;)

I have quite a bad feeling about this, I am getting no response from Nationwide rewards and it feels like I am being fobbed off - but its £25 so its not an insignificant amount so I will keep nagging at them

this months bill went through today and it was another gob snacking one so another £25 off would have been good ..

Hi Mhoc, did 3 £25 nationwide offers and within a week all were in my bank account.

Also for amex redmeptions did 48 redemptions over 8 cards (post office, superdrug and shop small and never had a problem). Always get an email after redemtpion.

    Give them a call.
