    I have a large Samsung American model fridge freezer with ice maker and water dispenser that also beeps when left open too long. You don't have to close the door when it does that - just push in the lever/button that the door normally pushes on when it is closed and that stops the beeping noise ;)

    Will try and remember this when I go back to work thank you :D

    Mine packed up twice and they fixed it. When it went wrong the third time they replaced it totally free of charge. Mind you, they !!!! themselves in the foot by admitting that some of the same model had caught fire and caused house fires !!!

    The replacement had gone wrong once ( and cost me £120 to fix) but, after nearly 10 years I reckon I am winning.

    Why is it censoring the word "shot"?

    Did you mistype it:D?:rotfl::rotfl:

    Yet again it's worse!:eek: (I know I've done the same thing a couple of times recently, though there were reasons for that which I could but won't go into fully - of course I wanted to be sure there that people did know what I meant):

    If you did mean the word "shot", then I still know what you mean and it's totally ineffective.
    And if you did not (or even if you did), then it's brought 'worse' to my mind. You may otherwise well have used the past tense of a word there, as I've thought again of a "worse" word, even if only to rule it out and decide it doesn't fit the four exclamation points - will people please stop making me think of "offensive" words and putting them in my mind again? Thank you. There was no need for this: had you printed simply the full word "shot", I would never have even thought anything else. Therefore, you have made your post rationally offensive (though, fortunately, it has not caused me emotional offence). Now, I've thought of a second swearword:eek: - and now it goes on... and another.. and another. It's far worse: you may as well have printed 20 different swearwords in a row there. The complete asterisked/exclamationed one is therefore the worst of the lot! Is the word "shot" offensive:think:?

    I must now ask: they want to what? themselves in the foot? As you have now made it that I want to know. I would rather just see the original word and settle it for myself, thank you. Rather than having constant, repeated offensive language coming to my mind in considering what it might mean (and doing so for minutes afterwards, until I finally give up trying to work it out).

    *And I've actually had an issue myself - only me - over one of the product names on my M list, which I don't like and in fact consider the word to be more offensive than the most offensive word that this forum does not allow - and yet the forum allows me to print it fully. I did initially think of using asterisks and actually put it into one of those form, but then I changed my mind and used the full word as I decided that the asterisks would only draw more attention, such as I'm drawing now anyway:eek:. The actual 'offence' is based on a misunderstanding of the true etymology of the word - but that doesn't alter the fact that I still consider that the word, used in an ice cube product, should no longer be used since I think some people may find it offensive and we, as a nation, shouldn't be using it anymore. I do have issues over this, I know - it is a bugbear issue for me! Whilst at the same time (or, rather, in different social contexts) liking it and finding it funny. Are you trying to have a laugh or be funny? Is that it? Are you trying to send-up censorship? If that's so, that is the only justified context for your use of the thing: otherwise it's totally ineffective/makes matters worse.

    No, I give up! (But look how many minutes you've now taken out of my life, of considering it again and again, over and over, and thinking about it - I shall still be thinking about this in four hours' time, and tomorrow at some point again, and then again, and again next year:eek: - until it is settled, I shall be pondering with offensive language going round my head and, potentially, annoying me - at that point, what you'd done will have come to have amounted to causing offence. I have decided: it is the word "shot", or else I cannot determine what it could mean. I shall not be fully satisfied and happy though until I am told by you that it is the word "shot" - or else what you actually meant. And, if what you meant could not be printed on this forum, then really you shouldn't have used your alternative version instead (albeit that I 'broke' that rule myself earlier, although I did have what I feel to be justified reasons for that).)

    All I can say is that it's a good job that swearwords (which you didn't use at all, and, probably, didn't even mean) don't automatically cause me offence on every single occasion without any exception at all - because, if they did, you would have caused me offence. And I'd also in that case be offended by the word "swearword" as that itself would make me think of things that fell into that category!

    Really, there's no need for exclamation 'censor' points when you didn't even mean anything like that. Unless you were trying to be funny. In which case, I feel you should have made the fact that you were trying to be that more clear.

    If you want to draw attention to your post and have Savvy noticing it and going round and round it and not moving on, then that's a very good way to do it. Although I would not suggest that everyone copies that idea.

    Savvy, I'm really sorry but I haven't got a clue what you are going on about ! (This might be partly due to my consumption of a large Jack Daniels and half a bottle of wine with my dinner - but I'm overnighting on my way to Heathrow so my holiday had started already).

    I did mean s h o t , I didn't mistype and I don't know why the censor cut in. I also don't understand why this might have caused you offense but I'm sorry if it did.

    I still reckon I got a very good deal out of Samsung !
