I went to asda earlier in the hope of getting the last few bits I wanted. It was raining and too windy for my umbrella. MG has taken his car to work so I used the bus.

Asda had NOTHING I wanted. Not one item off my list  bear in mind it's meant to be the second largest A in the country! (Where is the biggest then?!) for the first time in a very very long time I ended up just leaving my still empty trolley and walking out.

Ahat a waste of £2.50 bus fare and two hours of my life  :rotfl:

Not sure where you are QOC but as far as I know WATFORD and MINWORTH are the biggest and 2nd biggest but not sure which is which. Having been to both I'd have said WATFORD is the biggest and MINWORTH next

I'm in Bristol - cribbs causeway is apparently the second biggest. It's still crap though because they didn't have anything I wanted :rotfl:

I make a Black Forest trifle, choc swiss roll, black cherries, black cherry jelly, choc Angel delight, cream, more cherries & choc buttons on the top (sherry at the swiss roll stage if desired)
Only make it a Christmas, and last year OH slipped on the ice and smashed the lot, bowl included. We ended up trying to rescue it by putting it through a sieve, but it became like Russian roulette:eek::eek::eek: avoiding the glass, so sadly it ended up in the bin!!

This sounds lovely a trifle I would enjoy.

Sorry I did :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: when I pictured your OH doing a Bambi . Hope he didn't hurt himself :)

    Asda Supercentres
Following the takeover by Walmart, several "Asda Walmart Supercentres" have been opened, creating some of the largest hypermarkets in the United Kingdom. From 2006 onwards, all new Supercentres have been solely branded as Asda Supercentre without the Walmart branding. The first Supercentre with a sales area of 93,000 sq.ft. opened in Patchway, Bristol in the summer of 2000. The first Scottish Supercentre opened in Livingston, in 2001.[23] The Milton Keynes Supercentre which opened in November 2005 is currently the largest Asda Supercentre with a net sales floor of over 11,000 m2 (120,000 sq ft).[24] This was preceded in June 2002 by the Eastlands, Manchester store which was the largest store at the time with a sales area of 110,000 sq. ft. but is currently the second largest Asda Supercentre, and the third largest is located in Minworth, West Midlands, followed by Patchway. As of 2015 there are 32 Supercentres in the UK.[25] There have been no more new Supercentre openings since 2008, and the dual Asda Wal*Mart branding on the older Supercentres is being gradually phased out to the sole Asda Supercentre branding as each store comes up for major refurbishment work.

You forgot the Cornish bit, the old 'wacky leaves' lol
  • Evening all.

A very low spend day here - one Bay of E parcel and some RTC celery and that's been it. Got the celery (which has now been frozen) for soup making in the detox days after Xmas.

As for Christmas, I only need to buy fruit and veg and salad and bread now, which is a relief. Unless I get tempted with reduced luxuries, that is...

Hope you are all well and happy and ready for the Big Day.

Today I have seen a display stand of Easter eggs.
