..................................................DD has not found a job and needs money for food, weekly :cry::cry:

Does DD not get any money at all ?

if unemployed does DD not get some if not all Council Tax paid, you have to get ££

You might hate me for saying this, but DD is a big girl now, and if you want to enter into the "unpopular" category, then suggest she sells a Handbag :eek::eek: Did you not say she just bought one recently and paid about £400 :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

If I can manage food shopping for around £20-£25 a week or so, then ........... this is DD;s chance to sort out

ps Enjoy the thorntons - you earnt it, and it's your money :D pps :EasterBun:EasterBun

Ah thanks Frayed DD gets her food for about £30 so she is good.
Her BF just changed jobs and won't get a full month pay but even if he did it would be £1,100 and rent is £900 she is not entitled to JSA because she is just short of 6 months NI contributions, believe me no flies on my girl. Best they can hope for is housing benefit pays quickly xx

Oh and to round off my day day I have had not one but two snide remarks from work colleague today.

I have only spoken to him 4 times this week and each time he has twisted the conversation to have a pop :( xx

Is there not something about voluntary payments/self employed for NI, that could bring DD up to 6 months qualifyingWork colleague - look at him and think :EasterBun

Hi SueP, just popping in to say hello and to let you know that your diary was amongst a few that persuaded me to start my own :j

You are doing a fantastic job balancing all that life throws at you, and I am hoping that I can somewhere near your success on my MFW journey!

I don't think it works like that  bit of a catch 22 on this, BF earns too much for income based JSA but DD not paid enough NI for contribution JSA (will check with her today as she has paid 6 months and I always thought it was 6 months)

Housing benefit today so say a prayer..............still feeling very down :(:(

    Hello Sue,

Really pleased to see your positive post above re your DD, best of luck to her for the interview. You are so supportive of your DD, one day she will realise the sacrifices that you have made for her.

Try not to let that work colleague get you down and enjoy those Thorntons, you really deserve a treat.
