So glad you found it, that really is spooky!

Good advice there from applemuncher tho, maybe a cloud copy could work for you? I use Dr0pb0x a fair bit and you get about 2Gb free storage (I think). Not great for editing docs on your phone but good for being able to get to things wherever there is t'internet, or storing a backup copy

Hi SueP, just dropping in to say hello. Have spent last night and this morning reading through your story - what a trooper you are and what a journey!! I had lost all my mojo for MFW, but you have remotivated me and I am springing into action again Have started my Tilly Tidy pot and revamping spreadsheets like a mad woman. Am so relieved you have found your memory stick - phew I was holding my breath. All best wishes.

Ode to my memory stick by SueP (frustrated MFW)

It was an ordinary day, bit cold but tis the twilight of winter
As I sat there in blind panic, you were nowhere to be found
The pain was like no other, my life how could I continue on my path without you by my side
Did you think of me, at all
I thought of you every minute of that dreadful day
Did you care about me, my terror, my hurt
I worried about you
Did you want to be found
I searched and searched for you but all was lost

I had resigned myself to losing it all as the day unfolded
...........and all the time you just sat there, uncaring
I prayed to St Anthony
..........and all the time you just sat there, unashamed
I trudged my weary way home, to a dark house without you
...........and all the time you had just been sat there on the seat with my spare lifetime bag, did you laugh at me

Today is a new day
I see you with new eyes
No longer a trusted friend, I have new friends now, my mse friends
They supported me, held my hand and told me I could live without you
...............and I can, you are a reminder of an old life, a life I no longer want

I had similar panic when my laptop refused to switch on. I've now found the error of my ways and addressed my complacency in the form of google drive!

Sue - nice ode, although almost feel sorry for your old memory stick

SJ - this happened to me just about a year ago, still not been able to switch on:eek: but one of the guys in IT said they would be able to retrieve my photos for me, not actually done that yet, so thanks for reminding me
