    £300/£130
  • Ok, having a new go at this - fingers crossed! I'm going to start incredibly high, at £300 for the 2 of us this month. My month runs from the 23rd-23rd

I've already spent £55.54 yesterday, at S, but that should get me through most of the coming week, with just a small to up of fruit around Tuesday.

Shopping includes all supermarket spends, so groceries and cleaning supplies, and the long term aim is to have this down to around £40 a week without compromising my diet at any point by reverting to things that don't fit SW. Most of my weekly shop at the moment is meat and fresh fruit/veg, but it's also got lazy - a big pre-packed shop at the weekend at one of the big supermarkets, which could definitely be brought down with better planning of where I'm shopping and more exact needs on the list. Fingers crossed - unspent from that £300 a month goes into the holiday fund, so there's an incentive!

I'm hoping to manage on £200 this month. I've found a separate purse for my grocery shopping money We have lots of leftover food in the freezer-the only problem is working out what we do have. DD very kindly helped sort things out on Boxing day and froze all the leftovers but didn't label anything.

First spend of the year here with £2.54 spent al our local expensive shop for milk and eggs. I have a tesco shop booked for home delivery tomorrow but I've cut it to the bare minimum.
  • First spend - £31.88/£190 however, I forgot some items - still need to get some meat from butchers and need washing powder. Will sort out weekly list of dinners so I know exactly what we need!!

  • Happy new year! First nsd of 2016 here. :D

I've made a lovely new Monthly Spend folder at home and have proudly swapped it for use from today. :T We have dividers for each of our cash spend budgets (basically everything that's not a direct debit like the mortgage, council tax etc.) and we'll get the cash out ready for the 1st each month; with anything leftover will going into the saving/overpaying the mortgage funds...the saving fund is where our holidays are purchased from if we have enough extra too.

I've checked back through the Jan meal plan and fridge/freezer to make sure no leftovers are left wasted/unplanned for, and we're hopeful to have a nice chunk of money left for the saving purse this month. :T Some will come from the grocery budget and some from our 'other' and 'pet' budgets as our cat has all of her medicine for the month and isn't due any blood tests, the dogs have nothing planned, and nobody needs any clothes/school shoes/other items.

Here's to 2016! May it bring everything you hope for and more. :happyhear

    NSD for me. :)

I've only spent £5 since the 23rd Dec, but only because I overspent hugely in the run up to Christmas, due to rushed shopping trips in-between work and being ill, so cupboards and freezer are groaning with food.

I'll need to buy fruit, veg and milk over the weekend, but that should be all.

    Budget still at £400/0

Small spend for me in Sainsbury's today, £7.30 on bread, butter, drinks, etc. I did get a 600 point (worth £3) coupon for a £30 spend, but it's only valid for a week so I'm not sure if I'll get around to using it.

Not done this in a very long time and really must! Can you put me down for £400 for the month please? It really shouldn't be that high but I have got into an awful habit of buying what the heck and not thinking about it...January I have decided to be more concious about everything I am doing and buying! Hopefully that'll carry on into the rest of the year...
