  • Evening all

I have been told about this site from a very good friend so thought I would check It out. This challenge appeals to myself as I would like to get my mortgage finished early and then start saving in the hope of retiring early.

So my first post is here and I wish everyone all the best in this challenge.

Will send my figures through shortly.

  • Thanks for setting this up. I think this will help me to pay off my mortgage. I hope to be mortgage free on 1st September 2017. Today it is £25,229.

Hi, have finally come up with some figures. We will have some additional borrowing for an extension but in this challenge I would like to reduce existing mortgage by £20,000. The projected figure at the end of the challenge seems much more manageable!

I have submitted form, hope I remembered original number correctly!
    June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!

  • Hi again everyone. Great to hear this thread is continuing. I paid off my mortgage last time with the support of you lovely lot, but things have changed quite dramatically for me since I started the journey. I'm now married and we are just buying our first together house. We complete on 11th January, and my MF journey starts again. Much higher starting point, but with help this time from my amazing husband.

If possible could I keep my number from last time? I was number 16.

Off to find the calculator and fill the form in. :)

  • I've just signed up on the form so would like to join the gang. I am planning on moving in 2016 though which will increase my mortgage again from what it is now. It is only by paying it off faster though that will keep me sane.

Hopefully I'll get lucky and sell this place for close to what I paid, and find somewhere not too much more to buy, but we'll see.
