    Hi,

I'm in - Trix, how do I get a challenge number ? Shall I go see if I can find something in the first post :)

(Or can I have the same number as before ?)

Am trying on my MFiT-4 goal for size by putting it in my sig. Is "over stretching" it (to put it mildly !), but on the other hand as I beat my last target, hmmm...

    Even more crazy is
    £250k SIPP AND
£250k equivalent value of DB pensions (I don't know how they convert but will have a research)

That, I think I will save for MFiT-5.

Anyway, I have a month to think about these things, and Christmas to post on, and not spend online..

Heres to another 3 years of MFiT teamwork :)

    FG
    MFiT-T4 Number 68
MFiT 4 Goal - Build up savings (SIPP, ISA etc.) to £250k . Current balance £174748 (1/8/16).
    Crazy goal - £500k by Jan 2026.

your T3 number is put to one side if you would like it again, just let me know.
you're an old hand at this so you know what feels right & its not a challenge if you don't have to stretch for it :)

this is definitely a team work thing, the suggestions appear to already be flowing so lets keep it on a roll and help each other to get over our respective lines be it a slowly slowly catchy monkey progress or some of you loons who go hightailing off straight away ;)

I have submitted the form to join the challenge.:D

I am aiming to reduce our current mortgage but we will hopefully be moving next year so my total includes a reduction of the current mortgage in 2016 and we will then increase our mortgage to begin with but looking to OP £20k over the next 2 years once moved. I hope this is OK and makes sense!
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

I'm in again.. just sent my registration form Trix, thank you for doing this!

Missed the last update of MFIT-3 :o but well done to everyone who made their targets :T:T and to those who completely paid off their mortgages:T

This time we're aiming to reduce the offset mortgage by £30k, that will be a combination of upping offset savings and OP'ing all the little amounts I earn outside of normal work.
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

  • Good Luck everyone, for those on their first challenge - the time will fly by.:j It's hard to believe it's 6 years since we sat down and worked out just how much we could afford to overpay and then tried to squeeze the number to get 60k off in 3 years. That 2nd number was not rational, then we started to plan! We didn't quite make it, but got it in the 4th year. :cool:Biggest tips - meal plan, batch cook, flog what you will never use again! Old cars have much more character than newer ones! Think short term pain for long term SUPER gain. What you are gunning for is choices, choices choices. Seriously. Choices.
Everyone's personal circumstances are different, so try not to compare your numbers to others. Stay focused and look forward to checking in every 3 months. Short sprints, deep breath and go again.

    Someday Soon

This is my first MFIT challenge, but I did the 2015 challenge this year and managed to reach my target, so I'm really looking forward to this challenge, and the support everyone will give.

I do the meal planning, batch cooking, and I always buy second hand cars, with no plans to change my car in the foreseeable future. I don't flog my old stuff, though. I think I need someone on my case to make sure I do it. Does anyone fancy the job?

Anyway, good luck everyone, whatever your target. I think we need a cheerleader icon.
