It was clearly just a bit of a laugh. Have you never poked/prodded/smacked someone's bottom?? You boring lot.
    No I haven't.
At least not since I was in my silly twenties.
    How old are you?
If anybody poked/prodded/smacked my bottom, they'd be on their a*se in the gutter.
Maybe it's an age thing. smiley-confused013.gif
The pain pen was clearly not going to do any damage to the bloke so lay off the OP??
Did the OP's boyfriend know it was not going to do any damage?
He's been asked this earlier but has not answered.
It's clear his boyfriend didn't think it was funny.
My Dad bought me a 'shock' lighter once which delivers an small electric shock when you go to 'light' it. Is he a terrible person for this? Chill the f*** out people!
Actually, I'd say he is - unless he knew how the recipient was going to receive the 'joke'.
That's the problem with these forums awolo1. Many holier-than-thou posters who like to troll.

OP you are best off without each other.

All this is hard for me to come to terms with, in my world animals are respected as companions and not disposed of at a whim, we are responsible for their welfare.

In my world you don't even pretend to hurt someone just for fun, to actually hurt someone even if you think it's fun is a disgusting thing to do.

Find someone who respects you and who you can respect.

Couldn't agree more, I'm always trying to hurt the hubby (in a jokey way) and we play practical jokes on each other all the time, it's just our sense of humour. I would be very concerned if this guy reacted in that way.
Fine if you know each other and are both comfortable with that sort of humour. You clearly are, I wouldn't be.

The OP hasn't said if this form of "play" is a normal ongoing part of the relationship for them or not. I couldn't be with someone that thought things like "pain pens" are funny, nor could I be with someone as jealous as his boyfriend appears to be.

Have to agree with a number of the posts that say they would not put up with being poked/prodded/tickled/bum smacked. I hate all that, it's childish behaviour and no place for it in adult relationships. Although, I don't allow my 6 year old daughter to act in that way either as its impossible to know whether it will be seen as funny or upsetting to others so the risk should not be taken.

Cannot stand people who try to make jokes out of everything either!

OP, whilst it does seem like your boyfriend is struggling to control his feelings, it does come across that you are "testing" him on purpose. If he was truly uncomfortable at the thought of meeting your father, you should have respected that and left it until he felt ready. He probably feels quite resentful that after putting him in such a difficult position, you continue to taunt him in other ways. Maybe some of his jealousy stems from all this in that he thinks if you are showing such disregard for his feelings, what else might you be doing.

I don't think it's a healthy relationship at all, for either of you. He would be better with someone more sincere and respectful of his feelings and you with someone who has a less serious outlook.
