Ooh I could hug you, thanks so much, and LaE too. I looked at these once before but couldnt afford it. I have just texted my MIL who says that if I order one and get it sent to her she will pay for it for my christmas pressie! So excited. Getting my nails done is something I havent been able to afford for years and normal polish just doesnt last very long on me.

I just need to save up for some of my expensive face cream now ..

I can recommend the boots, SensatioNail one, my mum's been using it for just over a year.
  • Morning all
I didn't get back on last night - had a night of present wrapping and then by the time we were done and I watched some telly then I was shattered. I've woken up this morning with a sore throat, but that happens quite often - it will probably pass as the day goes on. May explain my terrible mood yesterday :o I was on a very short fuse indeed.

[STRIKE]:D Been into town to the market for a couple of bits[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:D Checked banking[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]:D Paid in the penny pot - even though it wasn't very full[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]:D Opened a new basic bank account so I can have a separate everyday spending account, away from my bills and direct debits.[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]:D Tried to take ds to football but way too windy[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:D Cleaned the bathroom[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:D Changed the cat litter[/STRIKE]
    And I still need to:
[STRIKE]:p Take both kids to gymnastics[/STRIKE]
:p Mark the last set of exam papers I need to do (then back to books)
[STRIKE]:p Get the kids to do their jobs[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:p Make a PAD somewhere[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:p Hoover through[/STRIKE]
:p Perhaps knit another Christmas ornament
[STRIKE]:p Perhaps try and start some present wrapping[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]:p definitely need to sort the sofa cushions out - if I write it here then I'll make sure I do it.[/STRIKE]

Fairly productive day all in all. The present wrapping took hours and I still haven't done any of the kids presents. Still, at least it's all underway.
Chocolate - pleased the deposit is finally back for you. :j
Foxgloves - socks are definitely on my list now, after I do all of the Christmas tree decs the kids want.

    So, onto today's list:
;) Urgent - mark test papers
    ;) Tutoring
;) Put petrol in car and do NOT go into shops and buy anything while I do that
;) Plan and batch cook for next week
    ;) Maybe do some knitting
;) Try and hang onto my mood as best I can
    ;) Minimise heating use

That really doesn't feel like much but I've no doubt I'll be mad busy for the whole day.

  • Morning CCL, lego mum & CLF  lego mum dgd also slept in till 10 to 8 :j So amazing that later sleeps are becoming a thing :D

So didn't post yesterday as was working 12-4 and then had dgd when I came back so oh could go and meet up with a friend.

So I finished my cowl yesterday morning & wore it with the boot cuffs I made earlier in the week. Feel tres talented and chic!

ally that was so fantastically kind of you to take the time to work out that pattern and type it all out. You are so very kind thank you x

Incidentally to the memory conversation, I have a great mind for remembering what people say and it can be jogged if I remember what people were wearing. Helped no end when I was at uni particularly in exams as I would really focus on what the lecturers where wearing and then was able to remember the lecture. Also made for interesting times when my kids were teenagers and were trying to pull a fast one by saying they told me something! :rotfl:

Yorkshirelass can you iron in some of that patch up material on your son's trousers? I did that sometimes with my son to stretch out the trousers a bit longer!

    small things for today:

    * start cowl I am going to make for a present for dd
    * load of washing & put on dryer
    * all meals from stores
    * use up at least 4 things from freezer - still packed!
    * maybe go for a walk later
    * photo and list things on fleabay - really must do this today!
    * read book & possibly play a game with oh this evening

Ok that's all I can think of right now. Have a great day x

    Right! PC on the go!

DNMS - it's amazing how different people's brains work :)

Spent some time in bed looking at sock patterns :o (I wonder how much birthday/Christmas money I'll get? ;))

Today will be another fairly lazy day I think although must do some prep for the week.

    Today's list:
    • B/L from stores. OH is taking me out for dinner for my birthday (birthday not til next week though)
    • Remind OH to send his gig invoices
    • Last 7 rows of blanky. All in one colour so should be quick (ish)
    • Water chilli plants if they need it
    • Clean the bathrooms
    • Hopefully get OH to help with making either my mum's present or his mum's. I can't do my mum's without him as we are recording a book onto a cd for her and he's playing the Christmas carols and knows how to set up the software and microphones! I could do his mum's on my own but I think he should help.
    • Put two ornaments onto ebay
Small list but I'm not sure that I have much in me today!

    Have a good one folks

    Morning all :)
No lie in for me, for some reason I got up at 6 :rotfl:

Just back from a route march with the dog. It is windy but not too cold, and rain is forecast later. Feel so sorry for those affected by the awful weather in Cumbria and elsewhere :(

    I have also:
Used up last of stewed appled from the fridge with my porridge and yogurt :)
Cut down most of the raspberry canes (I grow autumn ones so it is just a matter of cutting them down to the ground once they have finished fruiting). I have left a couple as they still have a few raspberries ripening :) Also cut down some dead Michaelmas daisy stems and overgrown marjoram.
Pulled some leeks, and got OH to dig some parsnips for dinner tonight :)

    Still to do:
No heating on except for bathroom and airing cupboard, but will light the woodburner later :)Done
Another dog walk needed this afternoon :)Done, managed mostly not to get wet!
Any surveys, FPL etc FPL checked, no surveys today
Fold up clean washing from airer and put in airing cupboard Done
    HM meals from stores Done
HG vegetables used for dinner :)
Not planning any spends today, but must start a shopping list as I am running low on some essentials (such as teabags). Look through vouchers etc and see where best to shop this time :)Nothing spent, list underway :)
Make a start on writing Christmas cards Not yet - why do I find this such a bore? :(:o
Also wrapping presents Only a couple more to go :)
Got a stew in the SC for later in the week :)
OH has prepared 6 pheasants - I have frozen 5 and got one in the fridge to be pot roasted this week :)
Found a body lotion sample in a free magazine from Boots which was put in my bag when I paid for some gift items. The magazine is now in the recycling as it is just a load of adverts (yawn) but I kept the sample!

Well, that should keep me busy for a while! More coffee needed first I think! Hope everyone has a good day :)

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi Everyone

Legomum - sounds a lovely start to your day.
Determined - Dougal in father Ted has the same gift, I remember him doing this long scene where Dougal can't remember anything until Ted says 'you were wearing your blue jumper'

    So far today have
    1. Earned triple points on our food shopping using a coupon
    2. Bought own label flour for the Christmas cake which I'm going to finally make this afternoon. I hate the thought of paying £2 for flour when own brand is around 50p.
    3. Bought all my cards for December (birthdays, new home) to get the extra nectar points you could earn.
    4. Walked to and from the shops for free exercise
    5. Brought our Christmas tree in from the garden. We bought it for £10 last year and just repotted it as needed. We used to spend £60 on a massive tree every year and then just recycle it.
    6. Got son to try on all his Christmas jumpers, all still fit.
    7. Making roast pork for dinner. Will cook all of it and then cool and slice the remainder for a pork and beans with rice meal for Mondays tea.
    8. Stripped beds and put 2 loads on.
    9. Will do some shredding. Have a little bit to do. Better to do it as I go as our shredder cuts out otherwise.
    10. Help DS ebay a couple of toys he doesn't want.

    Have a great Sunday all.

    Bob

We ended up having a nice night away. We got a bottle of wine on the house as a treat from the hotel for my husband's birthday and they told us that dinner was included even though my confirmation definitely says just bed and breakfast was paid for! This meant we could buy our Christmas tree after all. We went to a different place to last year and it was £20 cheaper plus included a stand which we get £5 back for if we return it in January.
